Which yardage gap would you fill?

As the winter progresses, and my yearning to golf increases, so does my need to club ho. I have carried 13 all last year, basically b/c I have two yardage gaps to fill, and I don't know what to do. Here are my yardages:

3 wood- 250
3 hybrid- 220

PW- 135
54 sand wedge-110

I seem to need each of the yardages once a round. When I need 230, I usually hit hybrid and come up short. When I need 120, I usually hit a 3/4 PW, which is a little inconsistent.

Anybody have any ideas?

I'd go with the 5W/2i gap. Too many wedges just complicates things.

Yep, 5 wood. No question. A 3/4 wedge is easier to hit than a 5/4 3h.

You'd go with a new driver, 3 new wedges and the 5 wood and you know it.

That's probably true. I'm pretty set these days tho, and no gaps to even think about hoing for.

Unfortunately and fortunately....

I don't know, I think I have the 5/4 hybrid shot in my bag, along with the twenty foot topped three wood and the double hit chunk chip.

Its a big bag.

But, have you mastered the 170 yard thinned lob wedge? That, is an art.

I'll buck the trend and suggest the gap wedge.

I go from a 15* 3W to a 19* hybrid. That gives me a gap in or around 210-215 or, like yesterday, 200 into the wind. My solution is to choke down a smidge on the 3W and hit a big high fade.

Funny story. I was playing in November, and I was on the nineth hole. I had just birdied seven and eight, and needed a par for 36. Par five second shot short b/c I don't have a five wood. My swing thought is, "You're about to birdie three in a row".

Needless to say, I bladed that mother about fifty feet over the green. It was awesome.

I'd say take another wood, as long as your short game is solid.

Those who say more wedges complicate things, *cough*Ezra*cough* are simpletons, and if you can make it work, it's fine.

i would also go with the five wood for mostly the same reasons stated above.

And those with 17 clubs in there signature don't have to worry about distance gaps over 3 yds.
