O-16 CAT 1 handicap ?

I was speaking to the handicap secretary today about how it was unfair that cat 1 grouping was 0-14 handicap i then find out its 0-16.He said i was the only cat 1 player who plays regulary and would win every medal/stableford comp.I still think is bloody unfair.I have asked for it to be dropped a bit to maybe 0-12 but i dont think if it will happen. On the sunny side matched my best score on my home course today 72 on par 73 should have been better dropped a shot on 16 and 18 oh well.Shouldent cat 1 be 0-8 or am i wrong ?

At our club Cat1 is + to 5, Cat2 6 to 12, Cat3 13-20, Cat4 20+ (for handicaps).

Our comps have a Group 1 winner and a Group 2 winner. Group 1 is made up of Cat1 & 2 players Group 2 is made up of Cat3 & 4 Players. This is mainly because the real bandits (new members) are Cat3 & 4 players, who shoot very low scores meaning a single handicapper would have to shatter the course record to win a comp. For example if a 28 handicapper played to 18 that means a scratch player would have to shoot a course record 61 to tie and then would probably loose on a card playoff, lol.

When we have tournaments, it's usually 0-4, 5-10, and 11+

*shrug* I usually fit in the bottom ring, and normally it seems really fair. Except the reason I lost the City championship is someone posted on par 72 courses, 74-74-71 And was playing off a 4 handicap. Of course I raised the issue, to no avail.
