WTG Doug, now the important question is what kind of train wreck did your scorecard look like after that?

Cool, was it a good shot, or a half rib, hard bounce, roll 25ft etc.?

I don't know about that, my 2nd felt better than my first. The first was a little SW on a 103 yd hole and my 2nd was 206 yd par 3 into about a 20 mph wind. 5 wood in the cup,the best part was a guy in my foursome made another ace 2 holes later. 2 aces in one group. I will never forget that day.

Well done, Doug.

Now, was it the best 145 yard driver you ever hit?

Thanks All.

Actually wasnt going to play today. Have a tooth that started raging sat. nite and I now look like a chipmunk. Will be pounding on the dentists door at 8 tomorrow.

This hole has a really elevated tee, quite a drop to the green. I dont know why but it always plays long for about everybody, so i hit a smooth, slightly easy 8 iron. teed just a tad higher than flush with the ground, (i usually tee par threes about flush, looking for back spin). Straight at the hole, very high, both my playing P and I said this could be the one as it neared the green. landed about 12' in front of the pin,one small hop and then rolled straight in. I swear I could hear it hit the pin.

Definately not an ugly shot, but was also lucky it released and rolled as far as it did.

thanks all, drinks are on me.

edit : a so so front for 46 (missed three putts that I should have had) and finished the back in a 42. under 90 on this course is good for me, a very hilly and sloping course (69.6/128) that I have had several really good golfers tell me they refuse to play because it it too hillly.
for example on 18, a par five, my second shot to an uphill green lands about 100 yards from the pin, rolls back down the hill to the 150 yd marker.
But I am happy today
