My Club's new web site.

My club have a new website, it's pretty cool. They have done a good job.The course overview is good, there's a map of the course and a picture from each hole with a description of how it plays, nice.

http://www.northmanchestergolfclub.co.uk/

I've noticed that they have scrapped the joining fee (for a limited period?) I had to pay mine two seasons ago and it was £500 so I'm not happy . Never mind maybe now some of my mates might join? How about you EG? intreasted?

Check out the 18th in the Captain's final gallery. It's only 176 yards but you play diaganolly over a pond, normally into the breeze, if you go right the pond and 2 BIG bunkers are waiting for you. Left and your in the woods with little hope of finding the ball never mind getting up and down! Long more woods but easier up and down. Put all that together with 100+ people watching from the back on Captains final day and this hole is the ultimate Card wreaker. Imagine 71 holes played, leading the tourney all the way and then you have to face that.

BTW, the fella who won had a great season, he came down from 14 to 5 handicap. As well as winning the Captains, he got to the final of the doubles knockout, semi's of the singles and lost the Presidants on a playoff. (Bandit!)

Mr Bates won't get rid of his buddy no matter what the fans think!

I play golf right up there on the Yorkhire Moors at Halifax Golf Course.

your course

What a nice looking course...the pics helped to stave off golf-mania resulting from the foot of snow in my front yard.
