Wow, just did a double check and the story is starting to pop up on the wires.

Augusta National membership committee has indeed barred Sergio from its grounds for what they called a disgraceful act. Apparently Finchem has petitioned to have them reverse the decision but to no avail.

Looks good on him.

The Masters is all about making money for Augusta CC and the PGA. Sergio is a big draw. Ain't no way they're going to ban him for spitting in a cup.

Oh yea btw Ive played doral and I know those cups arent changed because the tour is around. They have holes about 1 cm apart so to say that it stuck in on the edge is highly unlikely. From what I have seen before in those holes I highly doubt that spit actually landed in the cup. Why dont we have the guys in the group behind him say what happened?

I have yet to see this story anywhere else. Not on PGA.com, Golfchannel.com, or ESPN.com. I am not saying that it isn't true, just haven't seen it posted anywhere. I'll watch the news channels.

I hope you are kidding. I for one commend the membership at Augusta and for one simple reason. Golf is a game of honor and I know spitting in the cup seems like somthing little. Thats how it always starts though. A few years ago we would all be shocked about hearing an athlete getting caught with marijuana, now its almost expected that a pro athlete is on some sort of drug. The exception is golfers, for the most part they are pretty good role models, and it needs to stay that way.

As for Sergio being a big draw, I honestly doubt he will be missed...
