Driver Shaft Question?

I recently posted a question about hooking my drives when I got a new stiff shaft in my driver (Proforce V2). Well after a few rounds I seemed to have straightened it out, but now I'm curious to know if I might be looseing distance because the shaft might be too stiff for me. My swing speed ranges from 92 mph to about 98 mph. If I get more shaft bend in my swing will I gain distance in my drives???

What shaft did you move from? The original V2 is relatively low launching compared to some shafts (they now do a high launch version) so it might be your launch angle has dropped down and is costing you yards through less air-time.

V2 stiff is on the "stout" side for 92-98 mph ss. You could lose some distance.

If you are using a V2 stiff flex at those speeds. Uless you have a very fast temp, an agressive transition and a late release I would bet you are indeed losing distance.

What is your tempo like?

Do you pause at the top of your swing, is the transition smooth or do you change direction quite agressively?

Do you have an idea of your release point? Early, mid or late?

What make is your driver?

What loft is it?

With that head and shaft its hard to imagine you have too much spin and too high a launch angle. Norally a lower lofted head is the first thing to try, secondly (is this even a word) would be a shaft with a stiffer tip section. The stiffer the lower the spin.

I just read a GD article that tested the superquad, sumo2 and ft-i and the ft-i was the highest launching and the highest spinning of the three.

I do not pause at the top, just as soon as I'm back there I start my downswing. I would say it is pretty aggressive.

How do I tell my release point??

I have a Nike SQ 9.5 degree

wayyy to stiff at that speed dude. that shaft plays incredibly stiff to flex. id reccomend and R at that speed for sure.
