Pro Golf Or Edwin Watts? I have both stores by me, which one should I buy from?

I have both of these stores in a hour drive from where I live... Since I live near charleston, sc (some great golf courses here) and I have some old crappy clubs(wilsons with a couple walmart clubs in the mix) I am thinking bout buying a cheaper, but good set from one of these stores.. I am looking at trying to not spend alot.... Under $300 hopefully...I am wanting a cheaper set(might even buy from here ya know because I have only played a few time, and dont know if I will hang in to it and like it or not..... but they both have the club setup computer thing I would like to try what store do you like best...

thanks

Which ever one has the better deal, don't limit yourself to one store.

If you have a good idea what you like, go eBay. If you don't go to the one that you think will help you the most. I live in an area with lots of stores. I go to the "hole in the wall" in a little strip mall. They converted an Adams wedge to see if I would like it. I got to hit it with the extension and the new grip before I paid a dime. I will go back there again.

Go with which ever store has used sets. This way you get a better club and don't have to spend alot of money.

If they both sell used, buy the cheapest.

We don't have Edwin Watts stores up in Wisconsin but I've bought clubs from them through the mail. Class outfit and their salespeople are golfers and know how to help you. And they have a great selection of stuff.

Edwin Watts treats you right, and they'll usually match someone else's price if lower. Over the last 20 years, I've done a lot of business through the mail with them, and have never had a complaint.

I've done business with Edwin Watts for years without problems but now GolfSmith is closer to my house.

They are both good and I'll bet you'd find the same with Pro Golf too...

I'd go with whichever store will give you the best deal and the best post-purchase service...you might want to ask each about their return policies.

Go to each store and tell them your current situation and what you are trying to accomplish and see what each recommends. That will likely give you the best way to go...

Edwin Watts bought out all the Pro Golf Discount stores around here. I preferred Pro Golf. However, not that we have Golfsmith and the PGA Tour Superstores, that's where I go first.

If neither of the stores have something for you, you're not far from Myrtle Beach. There's Martin's Golf & Tennis (same as PGA Superstore) and Dimension Golf and several smaller stores. I've gotten some good deals there.

I am not familair with Pro Golf but Edwin Watts is a very good store. My advice would be to check out which clubs you like and see if you can get them on ebay. I recently bought a new set of irons and got them $150 cheaper off ebay than they sold for at any other golf shop.

Ed Watts is big in Alabama, but the staff seems to vary from location to location. They all seem competent, but in terms of helpfulness, there are some locations I prefer to others. But they are a good store.

I'd go along with the used clubs suggestion as well. You can get some good deals for much less money.
