| First Round of the Season Went out for the first round of the season last Friday, there was still a bit of snow in some places, and the ponds were still frozen. So it was pretty weird to say the least. The course was terribly slow. I was by myself (couldn't drag anybody out) and I played 3 balls on every hole. I had a 2-some in front of me that spent 20 minutes looking for their ball on the last hole. That made me mad.
It's a Par 27 9-hole course and I shot a 33. Not bad for a first round. I forgot a lot of technical stuff about golf though, hopefully I can regain that back. My chipping is horrid.
It was pretty funny though, the last hole was a tee shot across a 100 yard long (frozen) pond. I shot my 2nd ball and in a hasty manner I set up too far ahead of the ball. And I came down on it. So the ball went up probably only 6 feet up in the air, hit the grass in front of me, bounced on the frozen pond twice, and onto the green. And I birdied. Thank mother nature for ice.
All in all it was a fun experience, hopefully I can get out to the 18 hole course this weekend. |
