this sucks... less golf for me

so i started working at this new place for 2nd shift position. well i just found out that i'll be in 1st shift for at least 3month b/f i change my time.

i was thinking that if i start work at 4, i can get a round pretty much every day.

this job is getting in the way of my golfing schedule..

Better find a range on the way home or you'll be getting a butt whipping on Saturday's. Where are you working at? I'm sure you'll be able to find something where you can get on for 9 after leagues or whatever. The one I played a ton the last few yrs. had a $12 after 4 rate and I could get 18 in playing fast with my dad.

Decisions... Decisions! Ditch the job until you find one that will allow you adequate time to get in your daily round. You'll play lots of golf and, probably, play it well. But... You might have difficulty walking 18 with no food for nourishment since the job provides food and shelter. And, if you stay on this DB, you will need further "cash" to 'ho clubs to enhance your bag.

A life of crime might be the answer. Banks open from 10 to 3. Robbing them as they open or close would allow you rounds before or after. (Or, before AND after!!) White collar crime would take too much time out of your day and probably wouldn't allow time to play. Yes, bank robbery it is. But... If I were not better at robbing banks than at playing golf, I'd end up in this little cell with Bubba. And, Bubba's hole-in-one definition might not be the same as mine!!!

So, it's back to working. Let's see. 3 months of day shift. May, June, July. That means you'd be changing to the 2nd shift in August. Still lots of golf season left. (You easterners do have weather to play golf to at least, umm, September or so??? ) 3 months of a paycheck to get the bag in shape for when the 2nd shift is available. 3 months of sacrifice for a much longer time of being able to play every day Mother Nature permits. Sounds like you can't lose.

Enjoy your time as a young 'flat belly'. Some day you'll get old like the rest of us. If I had the opportunity to play every day... If I even thought about playing 6 or 7 days/week... this ol' body would rebel. The worst thing I can do is 'enjoy' a 3-day weekend of golf. Three rounds in a row and I feel them for the next 6.

Enjoy the time you DO have to play golf. Enjoy the opportunity you do have to be gainfully employed with the promise of a better shift that will allow you to enjoy the game you love. But, should you decide on the bank robbery... and are successfull... remember your ol' friends out here in ShotTalk land and gift us with an occasional stipend of cold hard cash!!!

Oh, by the way.... Best of luck in your new job!!!!!

thanks for the reply.

i just found out today that there is a golf league w/in the company and they go out twice a week.

it's been raining for 4 days here but i'm bound to have some rounds aft. work. i guess perks for working at a big corporation actually good sometimes.

and.. i'm not good at robbing bank, never tried, so i'll just leave it at that.

Sounds good man. Just let them see you pound out a few of those 285yd. rainmaker's with the Hibore and they'll be fighting over you.... Just leave the putter at home till you're in though.
