Buying golf clubs on good vs. bad days - Nike's cci irons Hi Folks,
First I did not know where to put this thread, here or at the equipments board.
First to the equipment question (very short): Has anybody hit the new Nike's cci forged irons and what recisions have you read about it. Do you like it? etc?
Now to the other consideration: At a nearby golf course a golf retail shop held a demo day (a day where the retail comp. has organised a testing day with all the big golf club producers). So I went up there because I wanted to buy a new set of irons for this season. I was sure I would buy the new Mizuno MP67 or maybe the MP32. But oh i was wrong. Saturday night was a very long night for me and when i arrived at the course to test new clubs I felt like a stoneman carved in stone, no feeling no touch, nothing. I sliced more or less every d**** ball.
So I hit quite a few balls just to get the swing going (which was impossible for me) and tested the mp 67, 32 the nike cci and the the som callaway thing (you realize i am a huge fan of callaway), anyway. The only club i hit some balls that would not have gone into the water hazard were the balls hit with the nike irons. I really wanted to buy a set yesterday (which i did in the end) but what do you think, should you buy a golf set on a good or bad day. Obviously the first intention is that you should hit them on a good day, but consider this. The good days make 50 - 80 percentage time, what about the other 50 - 20 %? AND do not you think that if you have a good feeling with an iron on a bad day you would have an even better feel on good days?
That made sense to me anyway, so I bought myself a set of the cci's. Hope, I was not being an idiot.
