How many times do you strike a golf ball a year?

Just had a funny thought, was trying to figure out a rough calculation of how many shots I hit a year....

Taking my average 18 holes a week which is about 80, couple that with the nine holes I play a week averaging 40, then with the average amount of times I hit the range at 80 balls a time (3) you can figure out a rough amount of shots I hit in a year....

360 per week, * 52 = 18,720 per year. Nice!

Let's see. 100 +/- rounds/year. Avg 82/round. 8,200 balls struck. Putts avg 36 +/-. 8,200 less 3,600 = 4,600 swings. (I do not take full practice swings or hit range balls.) Those 100 +/- rounds are, mostly 3-hour rounds. 300 hours minimum with a couple of longer rounds tossed in would condense those 4,600 full swings into just over 300 hours. That's 15 to 16 full swings/hour for only 6 +/- hours/week. My back now has 160 +/- hours to heal up between those 6 hours of agonizing stress. 3.5% of the week my body is stressed... 96.5% of the week my mind is stressed wondering why the body won't hit the shots the mind seems to think it can!!
