Thumbs up Oh my God. I'm going to the 2006 Masters!

I'm in absolute shock. I have this buddy who's family has had masters badges since the 50's. He works in the pro shop at the course where I'm men's league pres. So I'm sulking over my crappy round in the parking lot and my NEW BEST FRIEND invites me to the 2006 MASTERS!!!! Holy freaking hell!

This isn't one day or the practice round either. Its Thursday through Sunday!!! WOOOOO!!!!

Hey Media:

That is the real deal....a family that has had the badges since the 50's.

There is so much "inside knowledge" regarding going to that tournament. These folks will really show you the way.

I have been three times and loved it each time.

You are a lucky bastard and I am a jealous bastard.

Have fun...

Have a great time. I've been once and it was still the best sporting event I think I've ever attended.

Well you know what this means...you have to do something crazy enough to get yourself on TV so that you can prove to us that you were there.

I went last year and this year all 4 days. Saw Philly Cheese Steak win it last year on 18. This year we had managed to get our seats on the front row of 10 towards the end in case there was a playoff. Sure enough, they changed the rules so they start on 18 in a playoff instead of 10. Got hosed. Missed ending.

Be kind to the members walking around with the green jackets on. They are all over 90 years old and the back row of all of the bleachers is reserved for them.

Egg salad sandwiches rock and all food is CHEAP!

The thing about the Master's over other tourney's is that the badges are owned year to year. You can't just be some Joe Shmoe and buy a ticket and come to the tournament and shout you da man during Tiger's swing. Do that at the Master's and they'll take your badge...permanently. People are very well behaved and there is a steep history about it.

Bring or buy a little chair as you can set them out anywhere you like and leave them...no one will touch or move it.

You will have a great time!

Met Dr. J there this year.

Thanks for the replies. I'll be counting the days. My friend has told me all the cool things he has witnessed and I listened in awe. He knows all the good spots. And he has parking right off of magnolia lane! I'll be packing a freaking truck to bring back all my masters stuff for sure!
