OW!! I got hit again!

Standing next to the green on #1 at Forest Hills, writing down my score when WHAM! a ball hits me on the left thigh. The guys that hit me were on the tee box on #9, playing from the tips of course. This had to have been a tremendous slice to go over the pine trees and nail me. Never heard a Fore, even though they swore they yelled.

My girl friend was with me and she didn't hear it either. This was her first time on a golf course and I don't know if I'll ever get her back out there. She spent the rest of the round ducking every time a ball landed within earshot.

This is the second time I've been hit in 2 years. How stupid would it look to start wearing my kevlar helmet?

Has anyone else been hit or am I just jinxed?

Stay out of the other fairway.

Worst one I've had was standing on a teebox about 20-25yds. left of the prior hole's green. Guy must have hit a FW wood or something. The ball came screaming at me, one hop and I put my hands up, hit my left hand about 6inches from my face. That would've sucked. I've been hit a few times, close a bunch. I've never hit someone else but have come pretty close.

I've been hit a few times over the years, mostly on the legs luckily but ALL very painful!!
The stand-out for me was a good few years ago, I was under a tree adjacent to our 3rd hole which was next to our practice putting green. Minding my own business, warming up the putter for a round, when wham....a ball hits a branch in the tree above and came straight down on my head.....BANG!
Needless to say I "went down like a sack of S**T!!". A sizeable lump on me noggin but no lasting damage (wibble, wibble!!)

Never been hit, lots of close calls. I had a friend in high school take a "Judge Smails" hit one time though. Dropped him like a sack of potatoes. Ouch.

Last year I was getting to my ball in the right rough (hard pan) and a ball from a guy coming up the adjacent hole took one hop on the hard pan............and right into my sack. I went down of course..........and up drives this single player with his wife in the cart. As much pain as I was in, I couldn't help laughing when I told them where it got me...............it happened so fast, I didn't have time to react.
Another time I was waiting on the tee on top of the hill left of the green of a short par 3 we just finished playing. Someone (the local Veterinarian) hit their tee shot on the par 3, and hit me right on the forehead. All I remember was this "hollow" sound.........and opening up my eyes, laying flat on my back looking up at the sky..........and Warbirdlover looking down at me. I was only out for a few seconds, but played the rest of the round with a headache.........that's for sure.

I only got to witness the second one. I was looking the other way when I heard this "coconut" sound and turned around to see sssmokin laying flat on his back. The "perpetrators" took off apparently fearing a legal action. I didn't know until now that sssmokin knew who it was... (was very funny. Wished I could have saw him get hit in the sack!!)...

never been hit, but one time i was walking with my friend, and we were no more than 3feet apart. somebodys drive came down RIGHT IN BETWEEN US. not a fore or anything. could have killed either of us. we were pissed, but were only around 12 at the time so could do a whole lot about it.

Been hit at least 8-9 times. 3 times so far this year.

Only about 4-5 of them the person actually yelled fore...

Also hit my friend last month from 290 (he told me to playup to join them, not my fault, i yelled fore and he was standing right in the middle of the fairway)

On one particular tee box (#3 at Mission Golf Club) ive picked up 3 of these ball collisions with myself. The tee box is RIGHT behind (and i mean right directly) the 2nd green.

OOO, i forgot about my last round....

I was 265 out on an uphill par 5, from a little ahead of where my ball sat id usually hit 3w and it'd roll up about 5-10 yards short of the green, there was a group on ahead but i never get up onto the green from here, and i just hit a punch as it was also into the wind.

Turned out i smoked it, and it landed on the green literally right beside the guy walking off, easily playing 280 at least. I felt so bad, but i went up and the guy was really nice about it (also seeing that i brought his headcover up to him as he dropped it on the hole before).

Only ever been hit once on the golf course and it was my fault. I asked a freind if he could chip my ball in to my hands, he tried it and thinned it straight between my legs luckily I had my phone in my pocket which softened the impact a little.

Got hit once, and amazing the ball ever got to me. Was pulling away from a par 4 and a guy hit up while I was pulling away. He hit a worm burner off the cart path that went in between the two bags and under the back rest and got me in the lower back. Couldn't figure out what it was until I got to the next tee box and the ball was sitting there.

I did have a couple other close calls including a full 275-280 driver shot skim through my hair once while standing in the opposite fairway. That was pretty scary. My wife and the other 2 I was playing with were a quite a ways away and started over because they swore I was hit. Kind of a windy day so I didn't hear the guy yell fore, but everyone else did from their side of the fairway.

Also hit a friend of ours one day. Tee'd of on 1 and hit a shank off towards the driving range. Didn't even see where it went. I asked if anyone saw my ball, they said it went off by the range. Kinda surprised no one else yelled fore as there was our foursome and another waiting at the tee, I yelled but it was to late by that time. I guess the ball bounced twice off the path and hit a friend of ours in the @$$. He said he heard "Fore" right after it hit him so I told him what happened. Fortunately it ended up being a funny situation. Said he saw the line on the ball and knew right away who it was.
