How far do you drive the ball?

On average, with no wind, and in the fairway, assuming you include roll.

Most of you know this distance but fear manly rejection by not saying +300 yards. I just thought it would be interesting to see a final stat.

Sorry, I tried adding a poll, but messed up.

Don't care

I just make it into the 250-270

Average 255-280 (your poll 250-270 I guess). That's only been in the last year. (Up from 240-260 before). I can live with that.

I am in the 250-270 range. If my timing is on then it is 270+

250-270 yard range.

More frequent under than over that range, but the majority fall right into that range.

I'm not a long hitter, about 240 is average for me. I've really been working this year on hitting straight drives that stay in play. My last round I only missed two fairways and one was a dogleg that I just cut a bit too much and went a few steps off the fairway.

My scoring has dropped almost 8 strokes a round since the beginning of the year because of that and my index has dropped more than 4 points. Right now I'm a happy camper but I'm sure I just jinxed myself...

I have been hitting the ball great this year off the tee. I have also been sky-caddying all my driver hits on holes I use driver on. My average this year so far has been 284.8

Did I mention I love my skycaddy???

I fall into the bottom end of the 250-270. Out of the four courses I play on a regular basis only one requires you to hit driver alot....so I hit my 3w off the tee to stay in a comfortable range with approach shots. Funny thing is when I am really hitting the ball well I hit my 3w as far or further than I can hit my driver anyway.

Not far -- 230-250. I hit one drive 270 on Saturday and absolutely nutted it.

No offence but if you hit the ball 230-250 why are you playing a 8.5* driver?

Most drives (including roll) are in the 230-250 range. But at
least twice a round I'll get it close to 270.

Any CA Shot talkers with GPS want to get together and play a round or three so I can put a good response into this thread?

If the yardages at the local course on a bad day I put it about 270 and good day 290. Hit 300 3-4x on a good round.

270-290, i could be going deeper with a different driver, where the ball won't balloon when i try to step on one but the HiBore's accuracy is too big of an asset to give up.

about 15 yards farther than you do, although not nearly as straight

I don't consider myself super long, by measure of what people say on these boards, but I can say that I am more often than not the longest player in my group and one of the longer hitters at our club, I hit it somewhere about 270-280.

Basically I am saying that most of you who claim 280 plus are full of beeswax
