I like that they go to match play for the finals, it is a better test in one on one in my opinion.

But the Golf Channel did!!!!
I usually watch the rerun on Wednesday nights.
Hell, I won't even log on to this site for fear of seeing a thread saying who won!
Had the G.C. on, waiting for 8:00pm, and Golf Central blew it for me.
But I still watched it to see what happened to Ashley anyway.

Matchplay is a poor way to determine the better player, it rewards the aggressive player most of the time golf is one 18 hole match, not 18 1 hole matches.

I disagree. Golf was first played as match play and I think it's a great way to determine the best player. In fact, there's a lot more strategy in match play than stroke play which is just "use the fewest strokes". Match play tactics also come into play in a lot of stroke play tournaments, especially near the end of the final round and if the players in contention are playing together.

Most of the best players I've ever known were great match play golfers.

I love match play, I wish it was played more often. Personally, I think match play is a lot more fun to both watch and play.

I disagree, matchplay will still determine the best player unless there is a couple of shots difference handicap wise. Matchplay is a lot about how you handle the situation e.g. if you opponent sticks it in the trees you just make sure you take a 3 wood and hit the fairway, its the opponent your playing not the course.
