The Assclench is working again...

I've gone back to it and it is working really well for me now...the classic Elkington assclench is really helping me hit it straight with decent distance...

When did it stop working? Also how did you discover the assclench, dare I ask?

It's a legitimate Steve Elkington tip about having a 'quiet lower body' so that you can create coil and accuracy.

I'm not joking. Before Shottalk was started, I got this tip from a guy on Golfreview.com. This was the group we splintered off from to form this site...

The assclench goes something like this...

Tighten the muscles in your lower back and innner thighs as you swing back. This causes your lower body to rotate very little as you take your backswing. (The inner thighs are also featured in Hogan's Five Lesson, so this is not some sort of bizaare theory).

Then, take a big roation of your shoulders. This is also illusrated in the Hogan book using the elliptical circles. A very small turn of the lower body accompanied by a large turn of the shoulders.

It's just a Steve Elkington tip translated from Hogan.

Take your stance.

Tilt at the waist to get good posture. Don't bend your back. Back straight and turn from the waist down.

Clench the muscles in your lower back and inner thighs.

Keep upper body supple and fluid. Swing with your waist as the pivot point.

Start down with the knees and hips follow.

More power and more control.

The assclench.

I actually remember the first time the assclench went around. I believe Rock references it from time to time. This little tidbit is something that rotates through my swing thoughts; use one until it stops working then bring in the next...

Great. Another swing thought. That makes #204. If I go through them all before I swing, I'll be slower than Ben Crane.

Learning to spank it.

I was going to tell Man. how much I admire his avatar, then I would expect him to tell me that was a guys ass and the I would have to explain to everyone here why I like men's ass'..And the I would end up over at GR.
