John Daly stabbed by wife - in the face!

ESPN - Daly says wife tried to stab him with steak knife - Golf

While i have zero respect for this guy anymore as a role model, he's pure entertainment at this point.

Hilarious!

Might be a good idea to give the married thing a few years off at this point.

I've read his book and I fel sorry for him in a way. Bad parenting when he was 15-18 which left him and his bro being home alone having parties all week long. Drinking that much that early in life he was always gonna have problems. I'm devastated for him with his wife. He just wants somebody to love him for who he is but just seems to go for the great looking women who are only after his dough. He gets love hearts in his eyes and they get $$$ in theres!!!

Poor b*st*rd. Maybe if he came from a stable family and met the right woman 1st time he would have been able to dedicate himself to golf more than he has and who knows what he could have achieved then.

One part in his book he talks about after a round when he's in the club house having a drink. Tiger walks past on the way to the gym to have a work out and JD said to him 'have a day off Tiger, come and have a few drinks with us' (or words to that effect) Tiger Replied 'JD if I had your nautral tallent I wouldn't have to work as hard and I could have a drink with you' (ish) Laughed and walked off.

I hope he finds his kids. I don't think hes the model golfer but I have nothing for respect and like for this guy. He is honestly my favorite golfer on the tour right behind duval.

lol for people that read his book, remember the weather delay where he and his wife had a little fun in the hotel room while JD was waiting for the call. After that he called the front desk and the guy said he was DQ'd because he didnt go back out.

Agreed.

I think the Tiger comment was tongue in cheek as well. The guy has loads - LOADS - of talent, and he's pissing it away.

If the guy wants to drink, then drink. I bet lots of guys on Tour are pisstanks. But at least get your life together to play golf and to be a role model to your kids. Cripes.

Why was this Jerry Springer candidate even playing golf? If my wife did something like this and took off with my kids golf would be the furthest thing from my mind.

There is more to this story.

It is painful to watch him play golf. He doesn't look like he's taking the time on putts or chips and just going through the motions. And the claw marks his wife put on his face just add to the picture. You can't help but wish he does well.

I'd rather he fail terribly so we could have somebody out there that wants to be out there from the Buy.Com or something

I still like JD in spite of the fact that his life is a train wreck. My best friend is a recovering alcoholic, and I still love him (in a manly way). He has quit drinking, however, something JD has not managed to do yet.

I almost bought his book the other day on vacation, as it was cheap and I needed something to read. The last couple years it looked like he made some progress in trying to turn his life around.

I decided buying his book may only be a contribution to his problems. I actually think the fact that he put this book on the market and makes money off his misfortunes gives people every right to judge him. Regardless of what he says or tries to excuse in his book, he put himself in the public eye and if he can't handle it then maybe he should take himself out and not try and publicize it to make money. I don't need the insight of his reasoning to hold him responsible for his actions. Even with this bit about his wife. Defend her left and right to try and keep her out of prison, then he ends up calling the police on her for something like this. Maybe after the prison threat he shouldn't have tried to be so easy going and got her some help if he really felt the way he said he did at the time.

If not for the book, I would likely have some sympathy for him in trying to turn his life around and actually making good steps, but that made it hard to really care when he is now trying to profit from the situation while still fighting the battle.

Bingo... right on Jayhawk!

I'm my opinion the man is just plain trash.

And before I get flamed, I'll put my childhood up against anyone's in terms of lack of parenting/drugs/poverty and the like. This kind of thing can make you suffer (see my cousins and sister) or make you stronger. It's a personal choice that you have to make and live with. If getting drunk and high and in trouble makes you happy, I want no part of you. If you have kids, they should be taken from you. You are a loser.

Rant over.
