How is that a bummer? You can cut my lawn instead if you'd like.

Have fun. Post a report with pics, if you can.

With all the rain we've had I'm hoping to be able to mow the yard. Other than that I may try to play if enough guys are free.

The wife is stopping at the store to pick up something for the smoker so that's one more thing the rain will probably screw up. :real angry:

I am actually getting to play golf on a holiday, and a private club to boot!

I love Independence Day. Relaxation, picnics, fireworks, a break from all the political bullshit, family, what could be better!

Happy Independence Day everyone, and if you served in the military, past or present, a big thank you and God Bless!!!!!
    Annual bag refreshening almost complete...

  12. Stuck 300 miles from home. Not much sense in driving home tonight to return late tomorrow. Will play a fairly nice track early a.m. about 20 miles up the road. Then, if the old body will hold up, will travel 25 miles the other direction and try to get in another 18 in the afternoon. A good restaurant in that town has prime rib specials each Wednesday evening. Would top off the day with prime rib and baked potato.

Knowing how the knees and back have been feeling, probably will chicken out on the afternoon round. Supposed to be in the 90's here and the heat will also take a toll on the body. If I don't get in the p.m. round, will spend the afternoon in the recliner in my room and still make the journey east for prime rib in the evening.

As some of you know, our son is in Iraq. This is the first 4th of July since he deployed late last year. Will be a 4th with some tough emotional time, I'm sure. He'll be home for two weeks in August and then return to finish an extended tour in the sand. Knowing we'll see him in a month will take a little of the edge off. Playing 36 and completely wearing this ol' body out could be excellent therapy.

To all the great ShotTalkers... Have a safe and enjoyable 4th. Drive sober... Return to work Thursday with all your fingers in tact.

Good thoughts for your son, Limpalong, and all the good people over in Iraq.

I played my new Golfsmith P2 irons this morning for the first time. I also got to play the Top Flite D2 Feel and Precept Laddie X balls side-by-side. The course was slow but I had a few open holes behind me so I played 2 or 3 balls on almost every hole.

I was planning on hitting the driving range but we've had so much rain lately the grass tee boxes were closed (say NO to mats ). I chipped and putted for about an hour then decided to play the exec course. It turned out to be a good practice session -- all irons, hybrids and my 3 wood.

Got a new cart bag (Ogio AMP) and used it for the first time.

I think I'll take some pictures and write some reviews tomorrow.
