Played 9 after work, shot a 46 which seems to be my number on that course. Everytime I play there it's either a 45 or a 46 I shoot.

Didn't have a single G.I.R & 2 putted a lot, at least I didn't have any 3 putts & my chipping was decent. Also had not 1 par, all bogeys with the exception of a single double bogey. Driver distances were all over the place but at least the placement was right down the middle of the fairway.

Played a free 18 hole rd after work today compliments of Zaphod, thanks again for the freebie!

Anyway it was my 1st time playing the Baraboo CC & overall I feel it's a very nice course. Played from the whites with a slope rating of 121 & played halfway decently. Drives were ok, straight but not a lot of distance. Fairway woods were really on & my iron's were working well. The part of the rd I am pleased with though was the chipping. Didn't bother using my Vokey since I have some mental block that is preventing me from believing I can hit it properly, used my Gap wedge & it was working flawlessy. Didn't matter what the lie was nor the distance, every shot was on the green & actually chipped 1 in for a par & almost had another for par...missed by 2".

29 putts was ok, but could have been better, the greens were horrible. Must have just aerated them in the last few days & the ball would drop onto the putting surface & literally a nice little POOF of sand would fly up.

Oh yea the score, carded a 46 on the front & a 45 on the back for a 91 total. Could have been better if I would have been able to sink a few more putts.

Really need to work on my aproach shots also. Only had 3 G.I.R's so I really needed to chip well & get the ball close to the hole.

BTW, had a 4some in front of me who was playing at a decent pace but the later it got the more they slowed down. The last 2 holes it was getting dicey if I would even be able to finish the rd & the last hole I finished right at 6:30 which is sunset round here now.

There were numerous elevated greens on this course but this was probably the worst of them. The green is located right on top of the 2nd pic, made a challenging but rewarding shot if it all went well.

Only 531?

Of course, it's plenty tight.

I shot 9 over the other day, with no birdies. Nothing to write home about but I've been in a huge slump, so it was good to get around in a remotely rspectable score. When you consider no birdies and also had 3 doubles, the other 15 holes were fairly solid. Putted solidly too, but burnt the hole heaps and didn't sink anything outside 4 feet.

Came just in time as the club champs start tommorrow.

I am sure there are some long par 5's around here, just haven't played any yet. I think I would cry if I came upon a 600+ yarder. if I could bomb a drive further than 230-240 yds than I would welcome such a hole, but until then I will stick with 500 & under.

Also remember that Jeff plays golf at "nosebleed" altitudes there too.

Last time I played golf in Colorado we played a 7300 yd. course and I was worried when I looked at the scorecard. In reality, it played about the same as a 6500 yd. course here in the midwest. Lotsa carry in that thin mountain air...

Oh, I shot my best round of the year yesterday while out with Youngun5. Not the lowest score this year but I played really well. I shot an 82 that included a double on 18, could have easily been a 78-79 without the double and two lipped out putts that were well struck. I did however, 1-putt 6 greens and my wedges around the green were like a laser beam to the flag. I also made two of the nicest sand saves from two of the worst bunker lies I've had in years -- one short sided on an elevated green with about 6 ft. of green to work with and the other up against the lip of the bunker. I put both of them inside 3 ft. and dropped the putts. YG commented on one par 3 "maybe you ought to just keep hitting into the sand"

Anyway, it was a great day on a nice course with good company. My play in the scoring zone was really good and it hasn't been like that in a long time.

Played a quick nine today and the putter was hot! 12 putts. Hit both drivers again good but just crushed the Maltby after I teed it a little higher. If it wasn't for some dubs on second iron shots I would have been dangerous. Chipping was great all nine. Hit a nice drive down the middle on a long par four. Put my Nickent five feet from the pin from almost 200 out and made the bird. 41 today.

#1 par 4, decent drive, dubbed 2nd shot, 3rd 10' from cup, made putt for par
#2 par 4, decent drive, chipped on, rolled off TWICE (front part of green very steep downslope and that's where they had the pin), chipped on AGAIN, made putt for bogey
#3 par 4, decent drive, pushed iron right, chipped on, two putts for bogey
#4 par 3, pulled iron left, chipped on, two putts for bogey
#5 par 4, decent drive, iron off to right, chip on to 10 feet. Made putt for par
#6 par 4, huge drive down middle, pushed iron right, chipped on close, made putt for par
#7 par 4, good drive, perfect hybrid on green 10 feet from cup, made putt for birdie
#8 par 5, decent drive, good 3-wood, iron off green right, chip on, two putts for bogey
#9 par 5, huge drive down middle, 3-wood in water (1' from making it over), stroke to come out, iron off right of green, chip on, made putt for bogey

After today I may be taking my irons to bed with me.

They are just awesome, if only I'd had my Driver hat on today....

Shot 38 points in our weekly stableford and blobbed the easiest hole

It's a lovely game when you play well (relatively)

PLayed 9 holes with my dad today, par 3 course ( par 27 ). My best there before i think was a 45 or something, today i shot a 39, i am very happy about it. I missed like 1 birdie putt, and 3 or 4 par putts, but i had a lot of fun. I mad only like one green, but i didnt lose a single ball. I took a second tee shot on one hole with a 4 iron, instead of my popped up 3 hybrid, but the whole time i was taking the hybrid shot, lol, I just wanted to see if i would hit the 4 iron any better, which i think i did lol. Is that fair? I was pretty sure on taking the first shot and scoring it, except maybe if i got a hole in one with the 4 iron, lol. No lost balls is sweeeeeet.

Jeff, what is your handicap? Nice scores everyone btw. Played 9 holes yesterday so I wouldnt freeze my balls off lol. Shot 38 which isnt too shabby for me, finally started hitting some nice drives. Playing a scramble tomorrow with my Dad, Brother, and Dad's friend. Should be fun because my cap is 20 lower thsn this time we played in it last year.
