Last four rounds: 80, 74, 71, 72. Best ball striking day for those scores=the 80. This is a very mystical game. When the putter goes south, bounces go sideways behind trees, and you get unplayable lies inches out of the fairway, it is a humbling game.

51 over nine. put me at 16 over. pretty good. that would make my handicap about 16 or so.

I also got some good putting practice on one of the holes wile the group behind us was teeing off and so was the group infront of us.

We then had to haul butt through the last two holes because the group of girls behind us drove a 310 yard hole to 30 yards from the front of the green. The ball rolled right past me, and I turn around and they are all waiving at me..... from the white tees. They were playing pretty well.

I think they out drove all of use on that hole.

16 over for 9 holes would put your handicap in the 30s. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I did the math for the thing. course rating is 68.8, or 34.4 for 9 holes. slope is 115.
51-34.4=16.6
16.6x113=1875.8
1875.8/115=16.311
16.311*.96=16

oh wait. I just realized that the slope and 113 would be for 18 holes, so if I did the math at 32 over for a 18 hole round it would be at 32.

oh well, still not that bad as it was before.....

Had a nice little golf tournament today for my High School team. Decent course but greens were ridiculously hard, honestly Ive putted better on Oakmonts greens. Shot a +2 74 though so I guess I cant complain too much, and nice to be back to the forums as well.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm not at your level, but I've felt the same way after a couple of rounds. I played a round that "felt" like the best round of my life, yet the score ended up being a 90. Which is OK for me (my career best is an 80,) but is nothing spectacular. I stared at the card and tried to figure out "how did this many strokes make it onto this card?" On a different day, I shot an 87 and thought I played like crap on a stick.

Shot a 42 last night for a quick 9.

Driving was sketchy, but on the better side of things. My hybrid definately saved me a good bit of strokes and crappy shots.

Got some bad bounces, some craptastic lies, but overall I thought solid play.

Had about 4 topped shots, which is frustrating, as well as an errant 6i from 180 out that went right and left me with 2 chips and a 2 putt, for a double bogey on an easy hole.

Short game sucked. 2 holes I had nice chips for <5ft putts. The rest left me with long putts and crazy reads. Had 4 GIR, and one putted it only once during that. Had one literally stop RIGHT on the edge, I could have used a stiffer breeze to hole it.

Not completely happy, but my swing was really coming together last night I felt, and I was getting much happier with the way everything was looking. One of the more enjoyable 9 I've played in the last few times.

Just pains me to think how if I could get my chipping and short pitch shots to be more accurate and closer, or even with better chances to try and sink a long one, I'd save so many strokes. I'm normally around 43-45 every 9 holes, so I'm getting there.

Played 18 when I woke up after work. I shot a 45 on the front 9 trying to play safe and conservative, back 9 I said screw it and yanked the driver out on every hole I could and shot a 43 for a 88. Par is 70 so I shot bogey golf, I can live with that. And the fact that I had 4 or 5 putts that stopped right on the edge of the cup and hung there made me feel a little better about my putting. Maybe, just maybe one of these days I'll learn how to putt?

89

shot an 89 at Cedar Creek in San Antonio. 71.3 125 6600 yards. Pretty Tight course but the shots all feed into the fairways. Used to be pretty nice but some Ahole developer got the city to shake the surrounding land lose. now you have heavy equipment making noise about 100 yards away from most holes. really sad. course plays pretty well though.

San Antonio has some nice courses. I've played The Bandit, Silverhorn, and La Cantera. I go to the city about every other year for business. What other courses besides The Quarry and Pecan Valley (which are on my list) would you recommend?

44 front & 43 back at Baraboo CC. Driving was decent but my approach shots were on today & for some reason I actually made GIR on 3 of the 4 par 3's. Course starts out with a 175 yd par 3 right off the bat & I have never hit the green off the tee until today & it felt great. Dead nuts centered with the pin & about 4' in front. Do you think I could make a perfectly straight 4' putt for birdie on the opening hole? Nope, ended up just missing but was still happy just to have hit the green.

A solid 42 on my home course, driving & approach shots were on, finally figured out why the heck I was pulling my drives left. Putting left a bit to be desired with 17 total, missed a number of easy 6-7 footers.

Took almost 2 1/2 hrs to play, holiday weekend & it's slowing up already. Can't wait until next week when all the fibs & minnesotians go back home.

Game is good except in a putting funk. Either I can't read the green right or don't hit it on line. Found a problem last night. Should get better.

Anyway, 48 in league Thursday night and 89 for 18 yesterday. Lot's of 3-putts in there...

Rest of the game is solid.
