Yeah, that's great, dude. The first time you shoot in the double digits is especially satisfying, since now you know you've got the game in your bag. It, like a chip in, a birdie, or a great shot, is what keeps people coming back to this damn game. Keep at it, fairways and greens.

Now, break 90.

Congratz! I've been playing for about a month and a half and the lowest I shot was a 96 and I haven't been able to get in the 90's ever since.... I'm shooting in the 110 - 115 range. I am trying to practice everyday by either going to the course or to the range.

Congratulations!! I hope you continue to shoot in the 90's and then break 90 next. I am right around there and break 100 about half the time but can't seem to get to the low 90's yet.

i can`t remeber when i broke 100 for the first time but i know it was a huge breakthrugh for the mental side of my game,because then i knew i had the shots to do it. now i wish i could get into the low 80`s more consistantly,

I have been playing for a little over a year now. I played when I was a kid every summer for a week when they had a clinic at my home course. It didn't take me long to break 100 consistant and was great when I started doing it on a regular bases. Now I am shooting in the 80's consistantly with a few days in the 90's. The best advice I can give you about breaking the 90's and even staying in the 90's is take smart shots and make them all count.

For me, after breaking 100, breaking 90 came pretty quickly...but I'm nowhere near breaking 80! It gets tougher and tougher!!

Adam is correct for sure, i was nearly always 3 from the tee, now i don`t drive for power, i slowed the swing down and started to hit more fairways, also i used to add up my score as i went round, but its pressure you don`t need, so when i`ve changed and packed the car, i sit and add it up, so cheers guys.:laugh:

To break 100, and ultimately 90, you don't need to be a long hitter at all.

All you need to do it get it within 50 yards, maybe more depending on confidence, within the green. The rest is chip on and 2 putt, like clockwork,
