Bubba disqualified?

I was looking at the scores online and noticed Bubba Watson was disqualified and only finnished thirteen or so holes. What could a player do to be DQed in the middle of a round?

some equipment infractions could cause that... too many clubs in the bag, a non-conforming club, etc. it's rare, but it happens.

I just just turned it on when this happened. He bent a club earlier in the round, and then used it. He called himself on it, and was disqualified.

I think it was Bobby Jones who, when complimented on penalizing himself during a round, said, "why would anyone praise someone for playing by the rules?"

It's what separates golf from all other games and makes it noble.

On the other hand, I believe we need to take a good hard look at the rules, and modify some of them to account for the differences between professional golf and recreational golf. Namely, the fact that the pros don't get screamed at for slow play when the rules force them to play slow.
