There is a nice course called Willow Brook in Manchester that is half way between us x-111 on I-24 (about 85 miles) if your interested in playing sometime

Looks like an awesome course. I like the look of hole 6 with the water coming over the fairway at what looks like just into driving distance.

That's a very strange routing of the last four holes, particularly from the 17th green to the 18th tee.

Can't beat the price, especially if it's in good condition. The layout looks like a nice mix of holes.

Well It's a done deal folks... Reservations made... 18 holes on Saturday or until one of us passes out from the heat or get struck by lightning.

No kidding. Must be why the cart is included.

Those rates are awesome. Check out that thursday special!! Damn. That's a 9 hole walking rate here in CT. :jealous

Dang I wish my Willowbrook had a course like that for that cheap! My local par 30 9 hole is $13 to walk. Not bad, but I wouldn't mind a big course down teh block instead.

It was hot and humid, heat index around 124 deg (94 deg @ 75 % humidity) but I have to admit Pete was a real trooper

For only playing the game for 2 months and first real game with new clubs, he done really well... good enough to whoop the hell out of Greydawg even...

Myself... I haven't played since the last of June and only practiced my chipping 2 days ago, so I was really struggling to hit the ball where I wanted consistantly... for the exception of my chipping, seems to be my strong point of my game.

I have to apologize about not getting any pictures, but you will have to take my word, when I say that this course will definately make you earn your scores.

The fairways are nice, well groomed but a little on the narrow side from what I am accustomed to, but very playable.

By the 12 or 13th hole the heat really got to us. I mean I shot a 10 on a Par 4 (3 in the water) and the 17th hole, a par 3... we just couldn't hit the ball straight to save our poor pathetic truck'n lives

Pete gave up on the hole and took a 10 and I got a 9.... this is par 3 that you have to shoot over brush, then over water.. not to go too far right or you will go in the water there too, then miss 3 bunkers.... holy catfish, this hole was intimidating.

The front 9 got you warmed up for the back 9 where it made you earn every stroke... actually humble you.

We are definantly going back when it cools off
I think Pete will be a good golfer in time... I'm gonna have to watch him or else he just might out shoot me

He just needs to learn to slow down and relax a little and needs to work on his chipping.
I have to admit he Putts real well for a newbie

I did try something new today... and that was using my 3 iron hybrid in the sand bunkers with great success, Then again between this club and my Upswing Gap wedge, they saved my butt on several shots..

Highlight of the day was the 18th hole... on the green in 2 and a 2 putt for the days only par

Greydawg, ya just should have been there... It was a good day and the beer girl was very cute ...
