Please provide a definition of "club hoing"

Fairly new to this site and have noticed a term being used around here that I am not familiar with…..the “hoing” of clubs. What does it mean to “ho” clubs? Meaning, “pimping” out your clubs? Always buying new ones and trading in the old ones??

Thanks.

Being unfaithful to your current set of clubs and actively coveting new clubs. Its a pervasive syndrome expressed by extreme rationalizations that your golf will improve by culling money out of the wallet. Some golfers seem to be immune. A vaccine has been developed but club manufacturers have successfully suppressed its existence.

The University of Wisconsin has associated the stimulation of the hypothalamus of the golfer's brain with the acquisition of new golf clubs. An additive high similar to the high a racing bicyclist gets wearing tight Lycra outfits.

Good stuff, zaphod.

There seems to be so many variations of the club ho, that I wonder if the virus that causes it isn't mutating, like the influenza virus does?

There are:
driver hos (Warbirdlover)
shaft hos (Rockford and Ezra)
hybrid hos (me)
iron hos (me again)
older iron hos
blade iron hos
putter hos, with the subspecies Cameron hos (Wirehair and cyberious)
all one brand hos

What else?

You're still at the misdemeanor level. All those other guys are hardcore felons of the club-ho'ing underground.

How about a "swing ho"? Where you see someone else crush and now you need to duplicate thier swing. Usually happens to me every time I see Tiger swing.

Here's link back to a post I made a while back. It doesn't define ho'ing per se - that's been done admirably by others - but it does address the fundamental nature of the NEED to ho.

ho ,ho ho, and another ho for good measure. Currently I have 5 sets of irons, 3 putters, 3 drivers, 6 wedges, and various other orphans. The buying part I have down but separation anxiety strikes when I think about selling. But I'm claiming to be normal. It's the path of least resistance.

Especially since robereno is selling these hoes their clubs.

I'm borderline, except I am faithful to my current set.

My definition: If you start to wonder if you are one, then you are.

I'm the same way, DVS, but worse. I read a good tip and immediate wonder what effect it would have on my swing. Swing Ho is a legitimate and worthy addition to the Ho family.
