Right,Gipper Finau

He is 16,his brother is 17.Gipper is supposedly the more talented, but the most astonishing thing about them both is their length.

I had never heard of either of them until I turned on Sky and watched the Scandinavian Masters,Gipper got a sponsors exemption.

He stood on the tee,390 to the flag,11mph measured wind speed, from behind and the right.I have never seen anyone generate so much speed through the ball.I splurted my coffee out and listened to the commentators having fits. The ball pitched pin high and went into the lake behind the green. He still made par.Next hole 60 yards past the guy he was with

There is one vid on Youtube, wait for the end and watch him really rip it,its truly incredible

I have the vid of this 390 yarder taped off the TV going into Youtube now, will post the link later

Great backswing, and great position at the top. Then they JUMP STRAIGHT UP OUT OF THEIR SHOES !!!

That's some power. Callaway FT-3 with Diamana Blueboard?

There is something seriously wrong with the game of golf when "golf potential" is measured only by how far you can hit it.

I'm going to play only putt-putt from now on.

Phew, these guys can shift it out there some!
Could these be the first of a new breed of "Happy Gilmore" long golfers but with a short game to back it up?
I saw a report on Golf Channel UK the other day on Tony. He was playing in his first tourney and he knocked it to 20 feet on a 370-odd-yard par 4 with a lake in front!
It looked like Gipper was using a WhiteBoard in his driver??

Yes, but it doesn't matter how far, but how many. Distance can surely shorten holes and save strokes, but when you take driver on a short par 4 and are left with an awkward pitch over the clubhouse (a la me today), was it really the best thing to be able to hit long ball?

FT-5/Whiteboard, I think. He clears so fast, his front foot comes off the ground. I do that sometimes, but my SS is probably 50 mph slower.

You know why Tiger doesn't need to watch out?

He has control and ability beyond their wildest dreams, beyond almost anyone's. That being said, killer swing! Man, that should make things easier.

FT-5 for sure.. i dunno if it was a BB or Whiteboard..

With a swing like that, it would shorten those holes considerably.

Sometimes my left foot takes a little hop off the ground in my follow through, as well. It only happens when I'm really trying to go at it, though - the result is a 300+ yard drive, usually in the wrong direction.

Are you actively pushing up with your legs? Or is it a counter-balance to the momentum of your arm swing?
