A Soggy Nine

Zaphod and I met up for 9 holes in the rain at Waushara CC. Had some good shots and bad, but mostly an enjoyable time. He's a big hitter, Warbirdlover. Don't even think about trying to keep up with him when we have our Wisconsin Shot Talker Open in October. I wish we had better weather today, but hopefully we'll do this again. Those dry clothes sure felt good when I got home............LOL.

I'll trade you some sunshine and heat, for some of that wet stuff.

SSsmokin crushed a couple too on a no roll day with wet grips!!! A good friendly round. Wish it was drier so we could play 18 as both of us were just getting warmed up. Look forward to October 7th!!!!

I'll bet you got a little wet. We have flash flood warnings down here and my back yard now has a river in it. I'm supposed to go with Byron at 1:00 today. Supposed to start clearing up around noon. Guess we'll be walking (oh my back) since they probably won't let us use carts. And I play with a guy who hits them 363 sometimes. Why would I try to keep up with anyone else that hits long. (Which SQ you hitting sssmokin, the one with the V2 or the VS Proto?)

I've been using the one with the V2.............just love the feel of that shaft when you get one on the screws. I like both of them............just using the V2 right now. Zaphod tried it out. Crushed it, even though it's an inch shorter than his (46")

That nike Sq with a V2 is a VERY good combo. So many good drivers other there and so little time to try them all. You know is still drive for show----.Would like to try a proto vs also. Heard good thing. Also a Limey.

The more I hit that V2, the more I'm convinced it's the shaft for me. Covers up mistakes and returns sneaky long drives. Feels awesome when I nut it. Even better than my Comp NT.

I'm going to put one in my Sumo and see what happens.

Played today with Byron in the rain. Stopped raining after two holes and the sun came out! It was so wet they wouldn't let carts on the course so we walked it. I survived 9 holes okay. Got done and it started raining again. Perfect timing.

I hit the R5 Dual TP (with X-flex shaft) 250+ every hole right down the middle. Don't know what got into me!! I haven't had a driving day like today in a LONG time. Even hit the irons good. Putting was tough since the greens were soaked. It was a great day golfing.

Rained here for the last 2+ days, glad I worked this weekend. Rain tapered off about 2:00 or so but still hasn't stopped completely. Good thing is the courses around here probably wont let carts out for a day or 3 & that really cuts down on the players.

Wbl, Glad to hear that R5 is working out. TM has a winner there.

Its been wet and windyall day up here in Central Wisconsin. Even with my golf rain suit it didn't make sense to go out. Was planning on a 18 on Arrowhead or Lawsonia. 3" of rain since last afternoon.

Talked to my sister-in-law in Viroqua (SW Wisconsin). They had 13" of rain in the last 3 days. Flooded basements. Nursing homes evacuated. Houses on hilltops now in valley on State Road 35. Too much rain for a hilly area with clay soils. I'm going to guess Viroqua Hills Country Club was closed. You think!!!!

On a lighter side the Packers looked very good against a depleted Seahawk team last night. Seattle coach Mike Holmgren was not a happy camper. But from what I can remember when he was in Green Bay that scowl was frozen on to his face. Must of been something he did in his childhood.:laugh

I think Holmgren just has a "constipation" problem... The R5 Dual TP is a temporary club until I get my 905R back with the new V2 shaft. I gave the R5 Dual TP to my long hitting neighbor Byron to try and he CRUSHED one OVER the green on a 300 yard par 4 INTO THE WOODS and DOWN THE HILL behind the green. He hit a second one and HIT THE BALL WASHER by the tee block for the next hole!! Then he turns and says, "don't get rid of that before you talk to me"!! He's an animal!! Beautiful swing, smooth and the ball just explodes off the face.

The "new" 3-4 foot deep "Warbirdissippi" river behind our house after all the rain. This has happened in the spring before when the ground is froze, the snow melts and heavy rain but NEVER before in the summer. Sometimes ducks will swim by!!

Don't need that bird bath for awhile.LOL I hear the Coho Salmon are biting. A dipsy diver set-up with a ATV should be all you need for a little trolling action. Good luck and hope it dries up. But I guess 2+ more of rain is forecast for your area. It really was nice when it was dry this year.

Find out what brand of spinach Byron is eating. He has to throttle back for a 300 yard par 4!!!! Does he say "I can stands so much than I can stands no more " before he hits the ball?
