Walker Cup - can I be arsed?

This event is kicking off in a few weeks time. It's being hosted at Royal Co. Down, a stunning course consistenly ranked in the top 10 courses in the world. This is a 180 mile round trip for me to go for the day.

I have been lucky enough to play the course several times, but I don't know if I can be bothered going to see it for the day. I'm sure it will have good TV coverage. It just doesn't do it for me compared to the Ryder Cup. I know these are some of the world's best amateurs including our very own Rory McIlroy (remember the kid at The Open). It would be an opportunity to see these guys at close hand.

I think there are still tickets available for this. Help me decide...

Amateur event would be great, as you can get up real close I think. If you have the time off work, I'd go for it. 180 miles round trip is about as close as you can get too.

I think a Rory McIlroy- Jamie Lovemark match would be worth the price of admission to the whole event. Just my 2

I seem to remember driving around 400 miles round trip to play golf with a certain Irishman. 180 is nothing.
