Who is Stefan Langer?

Latest from KLM Open in Netherlands?

Fxxx me, you'd fancy your chances at posting up a better score than this poor dude...

Probably just nerves. Remember how miserable Kevin Stadler looked last year? And he is doing well this year.

more info...

Langer has relinquished his chance of playing in the lucrative Fedex Cup on the U.S. PGA Tour this week to play in a full tour event for the first time with son Stefan, who in 2001 was at Noordwijk to watch him win and also seal his Ryder Cup place.

Stefan, a scratch handicapper, won the Father-Son Challenge for major champions and their sons, with Bernhard in 2005 and 2006.

Father Langer, though, does not have high hopes for his son at the difficult North Sea links: "He has been struggling with his game and has tried to make some changes and it is difficult to play a tournament when you are between swings.

"I don't expect him to make the cut, to tell the truth, as it is such a tough golf course."

Triple on the 1st

Question is if it was you, "Would you walk in?"

In fairness if it wasn't for the 12 on #2 yesterday, I think he would've broke 90 ..... vast improvement today he only bogeyed it ..

Day 1 - 98 - 7 DBs or worse
Day 2 - 91 - 7 DBs or worse

+49 for 36 holes!!

Any thoughts? Is this some sort of record? Should it be allowed to happen?

Hey, I've scored worse than that in tourneys!

And, I'll bet he could beat Michelle Wie in matchplay.

Of course it should be allowed to happen. If the kid can qualify on his own he should be more than welcome to shoot in the 90's.

He hit some great shots at the father son championship that was on NBC a while ago. I was impressed.

Does Rule 88 only apply on the LPGA?

I read something about it this week, where if you shoot 88 or worse in an LPGA Event, you have to Withdraw and cannot play in any LPGA Events for the Season...

They were saying that may be why Michelle Wie withdrew from one of the LPGA Events, because she was heading for worse than an 88...

Don't get me wrong, this kid could kick my ass sideways on any given day. I am not so sure he had to qualify, probably a sponsors invite.

Poor kid was making swing changes and played probably a really tough course off the back sticks. But should he have played? This will have destroyed his confidence. I'm surprised Dad let it happen.

I have heard of this Rule 88 but know nothing more, not sure if it applies to amateurs though.

88 is LPGA only and was brought in years ago to stop club pros from playing in tour events and annoying the 'tour pros' by posting scores in the nineties

He is off scratch and got an invite,Langer has a lot of influence, all he ahs to do is speak to the sponsor and they bow to his greatness. He waited until he felt he could do it and er,got it wrong a bit,Stefan started to make long term swing changes a few weeks ago,he can't hit a fairway
