Playa at our course last night

I was chatting to a friend yesterday who was playing. He mentioned that Graeme McDowell was out playing the course behind him.

So with nothing much on I went down last night after work with my kids and sure enough GMcD was finishing out on 16 (near the clubhouse), so I wandered over to 17 to watch him tee off.

He was over this w/e for a Stag Party. This is where Graeme grew up (although he played at Royal Portrush) A close friend (local lad) of his is getting married.

So anyways I payed close attention to "the form". His swing is far from text book, has a real bowed in left wrsit at address. But has the most beautiful rythym. He hit a 3 wood (TM) with A Grafalloy Prolaunch shaft. He rocketed this thing ~280 on a perfect line down the right side, dead straight.

I hung around and watched him come down 18. Not the longest drive on the planet but probably hit about a 6 iron in, all over the flag but about 15ft short. Left his putt 2ft short!!

Anyway nice to see it close up. I'd love to know what he thought of the condition of the course.

btw he had the most massive Porshe sitting in the car park.

Interesting you say 'bowed in' at address, because he struggles with a bowed out or laid off,or pronated at the top

Far from a straight line running from shaft up through arm to shoulder, he has a definite kink, hands way behind ball! I was waiting for him to adjust before pulling the trigger, looked a bit hacker'ish, but at impact he looked soooo good.
