What would you like to improve in your game?

Based on your current ability, if there was just ONE aspect of your game that you'd love to get under-control that would allow you to play better golf, what would it be?

Lot of people may say putting. Personally, I am a decent putter; don't get a lot of one putts, but rarely make a 3. Its 2 putts all day.

So for me, it would be better iron play (ball striking and accuracy in general). Especially with the wedges from 125 yards in. If I could get that sorted out, I think my scores would drop at least 10-12 strokes and help me shoot in the 80s.

DVS: I agree with you completely. When I saw this thread, before I opened it, I thought "iron play."

Mainly because lately it has started to improve and I am seeing a huge difference in my scores. I certainly haven't become a great iron player by any means, or even a good one, but my misses have been a lot more manageable lately, combined with the occasional "knock it stiff" type of shot that I used to NEVER have the ability to do.

So I'd like to continue the improvement, because there is certainly room for it.

Wow, I thought the same thing as you nasssu before I opened the thread.

Up to now, having played this game for a year, when I hit my irons, I'm just hoping to hit the ball.hopefully, in time and with practice, I will be able to become more accurate with my irons.

Or else I just might have to buy another set of irons.

The most improvement in my scoring would be if I could improve my putting. Right now my putts per GIR is a miserable 2.something. Getting that down to 1.6 would lower my score dramatically.

But if I had a choice, I would still take 30 more yards off the tee, in the fairway and 10 more yards with every iron. I know it can be done, with better technique, I just don't have the time and money to devote to the effort.

Driving the golf ball is my biggest problem. When I am driving it well I will play great and when I am driving it poorly anything is possible. My short game is the best part of my game and it saves me most days. Part of my problem is changing drivers every 2 weeks I have purchased and resold at least 10 drivers this year alone. Here is a list- 2 TM R5 Draws, TM Burner, Cleveland Launcher, Cally FT-3, TM 580 XD, R5TP, TM 360, Nike Ignite, Geek DCT, Matlby CT250. There are more, but I can't remember them. I am hitting the maltby great at the moment, so hopefully that will be it.

I would like to drive the ball farther. Right now I drive maybe 220-230 and need to hit a long iron on my second shot, if I could be hitting shorter irons to the green my accuracy would most likely improve.

For me it's my tee shot. Not being able to hit driver or 3 wood off the tee is killing me. I am usually short and left and because of that I am not hitting many greens in regulation.

More yardage with irons....15 per club would be good.

Driving accuracy, no question. From 100 yards and in I like my game relative to my handicap, and my iron play makes me happy most days. But damn if I don't struggle off the tee every time I go out. I'll hit 1 or 2 that are great, and 4-5 that are so bad they're not even worth talking about. It puts tons of pressure on my game. I feel like I constantly grinding to save 6 because I'm so out of position.

Chalk another up for off the tee. My irons and chipping are better than ever, but the driver gets me in trouble more often than it helps me. I have to say though that between buying a new driver and buying and reading Hogan's book my driving has definitely improved.

Short irons. While my tee shots often get me in trouble, I give up way too many strokes from 150 yards in.

What would help me the most would be getting to play more often. It's impossible to develop any consistency when you're only playing once a month or so...
