Legit?

K, we all know that the mental game is the key to playing this retarded game well, and you see time in and out people who claim to know the secret...

But im signed up to get like 6 different mental game email chain kinda things, and always comes back to Micheal Anthony. Mental Golf Training, Mental Golf Secrets and Mental Golf Tips

79.95$ for his mental keys program disk/book thing. How legit do u guys think this is, and if it actually is legit, think its worth 80$?

Are there anyone out there who have tried this?

I konw i need to work on my mental game, but its tough to do on my own and with just tips from around...

Have you read Bob Rotella's 'Golf is not a game of perfect'? Amazon.co.uk: Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect: Books: Robert J. Rotella,Bob Cullen

A lad I knew who was doing his PGA until he died recently in a car crash swore by this book for helping you keep in the moment and teaching you how to get the most out of your own game mentally.

Mental game only means the following to me:

Understand the basic physics that create the different shots you need to utilize; such as spinning in reference to trajectory

Know your swing, and how far you can hit the ball

Asses risk/reward situations for iffy shots over hazards (save one stroke, may cost 2, etc)

Control yourself, whether you make a GREAT shot or a HORRIBLE shot. Getting to excited or depressed will have you losing focus.

I'll only charge you 39.99, too. What a deal! PM me for my paypal =)

I already have Bob Rotella's book, looking into some others at the moment sorta.

Its just tough doing it on your own at a high level, my coach said theres some sort of sports psyc in town, so at worst i go see him on my own if the skool dont do it.

You are really getting desperate. Take it easy man. What do have, 7 or so months before you actually play in a tournament?

You have to go with a PGA Tour guy don't you (or at least his book)? There are a lot of snake oil secrets to golf out there. I would suggest that you try to figure out who on the Tour has a temperament like your own, try to find out who their mental coach is and read that source.

I like Rotella's first book, but find the others repetitive. I have enjoyed Zen Golf and Zen Putting as well. I think the author's last name is Parent.

What about Fred Shoemaker's Extraordinary Golf?

I just think of $80 and think of all the books you could get with that, from non-sketchy sources, too. Especially if you shop the used bookstores, $80 could turn into like 10 books that any one or all of them may be better than this spam-like thing.

I actually had the pl.easure of a two day Bob Rotella seminar. My golf coach at Wake Forest paid for hime to "coach" us for two days my junior year. I certainly believe in what he says. He has a nice way of simplifying things. He will be the first to tell you that the mental game is different for everybody and is all about whatever it takes to focus on that very moment and not the past or the future. Different people find different ways to get to that level of focus and you will have to discover the best method for yourself. Dont spend to much money on it though!! I believe these days there are enough cheap resources that you shouldnt go crazy!

The closest I got to this was reading the book "the Inner Game of Golf" by ????. It helped me get out of the Golf Digest "tips" thought process (which had me tied into knots) and into just swinging the club and that's about it.
