One of those days

Have you ever had one of those days where you stand over the ball and everything just feels perfect? I went out for a quick nine with a few buddies and had one of those freaky days. When I got over the ball I felt great, so relaxed, I looked at my target and could almost see the ball flying right at it. I felt like I was in a surreal place, like I was at total peace. I birdied the first 4 holes, and then the 6th, and was 5 under after 9. Had to quit because it was getting dark out. I would give my left nut to be able to bottle the feeling I had today.

better than sex

Its not when I score when I feel like that, its when I have total control over the ball, but to combine great puting with it is an awesome thing

Some days all the planets just align. Rarely is it everything together. Pity you could have only played nine, but sweet shootin' nonetheless.

That's when I play my best. If I know I can't get it in, then I have a lot of smooth. I love any course in the early evening. Long shadows, quiet, etc....

Can't find that feeling at 8am for some reason.

Not even sure how I would react by shooting a rd under par, probably pass out. I shot 9 today & had my best rd ever with a rockin 41, don't know how I even pulled off a few of my shots today but I am damn happy.

I did cheat 1 tiny bit though, had a 210 yd par 3 which ended up about 5 yds short of the green. The ground was so soft that the bill actually was completely buried, I mean you could have thrown some dirt on top & then tamped it down. I had to use my divot repair tool to dig it out & then set it right next to the pit. I don't mind digging my club in a bit & getting a small divot, but the thought of hitting a 3lb chunk of mud just didn't sound too good.

That's not cheating. It's a free drop for an embedded ball "through the green". Only if it is in a hazard (bunker, water), is it not a drop.

Can't take a FREE drop from the rough though. If it's plugged it's plugged, and you better hope there's casual water.

Shot a frickin 50 today!
Played a different course thats located on the side of a mountain, literally 4 of the holes are so sloped that your ball will land in the middle of the fairway & will roll like crazy downhill until it's 2-3' in the rough. Had a hell of time with the chipping today but putting went well, 1 putted on 4 holes & had 2 putts on the other 5. 7 chips too many is not going to cut it, I need to work on this affliction. Get near the green in 2 shots & then either have 2 or 3 chips to get it on because I am afraid of skulling the ball & sending it 20 yds off the backside. But then I will hit 2 or 3 chips in a row that are beautiful & land right on the green with some decent backspin.
