Thread: Respectable professional debut for Rory McIlroy

  1. #16
Forgot how good a word 'Bollox' really is. From now on Bollox is gonna be my prefered word of choice.

BTW played Bull Bay in the howling wind yesterday, I love that course it is 'the dogs bollox'.

I did however drop a huge bollock on the 1st par 5 of the back 9 after hitting left of the green in two I thinned a sw right across the green into the gorse on the other side which led to my 1st blob of the day.

I don't know how you guys manage to play in the wind like that all the time. The back 9 was a constant wind maybe 3-4 clubs worth. It stopped for about a second at one stange I nearly fell over & thought I had gone deaf. After slugging around in that I was truly bolloxed last night when i got home.

    What a great word.

EDIT: Great 1st Pro round for Mr McIlroy, I hope he lives up to the expectations that many have of him.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Lol at the translations and where this thread has gone

McIllroy shot 78 today to make the cut. Apparently the weather was absolute bollocks, right enough....!
"Golf takes us away from our everyday worries. It allows us to lose ourselves in the beauty of our natural surroundings. And it provides a serene setting for enjoying the camaraderie of our fellow players.
No matter how good we get at it, golf always makes us strive to do better. In golf, as in life, there is no perfection, but we can always seek it. Golf constantly challenges us to aim farther, try harder, and be more than we are today. And really, what game could be better than that...?"

Yep,it was so bollocks someone else shot 66

I am only going by various sports pages, including the bbc's, Dave

Sure Poulter was absolutely furious that they didn't suspend the play (yes, they suspended it !) 20 minutes prior to when they did. Whoever scored 66 may well have missed the bollocks weather...

Aye, he's no oil painting. I would sacrifice having less than good looks for his millions, right enough.

Wild Cat: "The Wee Bollocks" would have been appropriate there

    Spot on Luck Wee Bollox.

So has he been playing Titleist gear for a while or does he get a transition period to switch over to a certain amount of Titty gear? Or was it turn pro Monday new bag with new clubs Tuesday, practice round Wednesday and 1st comp Thursday-Sunday?
