Couple pics from todays quick 9.

Played a local course today that I have been on twice before. Seems like there is always a lot of wildlife on this course, Sandhill Cranes, Groundhogs, even deer at times.

1st hole is a slight dogleg right & my 2nd shot landed maybe 3' from what looked like a rock or maybe someone lost a hat in the fairway. Turned out to be a pretty decent turtle, I dont know what type since I am not a turtle expert. This little guy really seemed confused, he kept wandering back & forth across the fairway for about 5 minutes until finally he/she/it decided the water hazard would probably be the safest place to be.

Then on the way home I had another group of turkeys in the road.

And finally the pumpkins are almost ready for harvest.

That looks like , what we southern boys call a Loggerhead snapping turdle, he can put a hurting on you if he gets hold of you. I loved that Turkey picture. I have been playing a course here that one one certain hole you'll see about 50 of them. Nice pictures

Yep, Thats a Snapping Turtle. Excellent tool to shorten your golf clubs if needed. They are good at defending themselves.

Cool pics.

Good pics. I was playing last week and when we rounded a corner there were 2 does standing in the cart path. One of them raised it's front leg and sort of stomped twice befor they took off. Those suckers must have friggen springs in their legs.

As for the snapper... down at my dad's house there is a "scumpond" as we called it across the street into the woods a little way. One day this snapping turtle comes walking right down the street. I swear to you it was big around as a friggen 55 gallon drum cover. Of course we had to feck with it. I got a push broom handle out of the garage and taunted him with it. You know it, that f#cker snapped it right in half. I was impressed to say the least. So he spent the next 20 minutes snapping branches and whatever we could find to poke him with before he'd had enough and went back into his shell and we left him alone.

Years ago in the middle of Ripon Wisconsin there's a river running through and I had a second job at a gas station. Here's a huge snapper (shell was almost two feet long and neck was as thick as the fat part of a baseball bat. I grabbed it's tail and I couldn't keep it from pulling me right along with him. We took a board by his head and he snapped that in half like Ez was telling. And the side of the shell as all open so they can reach way back of them and get you. Hissed like mad too. We let him go back down in the river.

Snapping turtles are awesome, and can be good pets if you get them young and know how to train them.

Pretty course too.

Saddleridge, it's an easy course but it's actually quite scenic for the 1st 3-4 holes.

I believe Jeff can get them to bark. Fetch and Roll Over are the real challenges. Turtles have very short attention spans. So hard to motivate them.
