"Fore!"

What's the most you've ever heard Fore! yelled on a golf course? Normally, I might hear somebody yell fore every couple of rounds or so. Yesterday I played a course that I haven't played in years. It was really busy. I guess a lot of people are trying to get in as much golf as they can before the snow flies.

Without exaggerating I think I heard FORE! at least 20 times (including once by me). Talk about combat golf. On almost every hole, somebody was in somebody elses fairway. On two occasions we actually had to duck behind our cart as screaming, heat seeking Top Flites went flying close by.

Lol. I've been hearing it a lot the past week or so also. Maybe the kids are back at school and guys are getting out for the last (2nd) round of the year. Fortunately I don't have to say this word too much any more. Last time was on a 293yd. par 4, I drew my 3W perfect and as it flew over where I intended to land it, I realized it may run up on the green. I gave a yell but it hit the rake in front of the greenside bunker and was on the grass downslope of the bunker. The 3 some in front were chuckling when I got up there and asked me to join them. I like playing with older guys who get a kick out of longer drives. Good for the ego. lol. They were great guys and I had some fun playing with them. Although my score suffered a bit, the biggest of the 3 kept encouraging me to try to drive it over trees and crap on holes I usually hit a 3 or 5 wood. lol. I couldn't resist.

I've played a few courses where a football helmet should be a prerequisite to playing on the course. 20 times may be about right where you may hear two or three on certain holes.

My home course, you only hear fore if someone behind you misjudged distance and hit into you, or from your own foresome on an errant shot. There are only two places on the course where you can see two holes from the same point. One tees the opposite direction on 12 and 16 and the other is where there is another tee box within view of the green. Some holes have over a mile between green and next tee box. So if you hear Fore more than once a month, you are either playing in front of idiots, or playing with some dangerous golfers in your foresome.

I've yelled it 12 times in one round..... 5 of them were from me

2 of them they were a little closer than we thought, my other 3 were on adjacent holes. Then the other 7 were from my "great" playing partners that hit it every other which way.

That was a funny round

100% honestly I have only yelled FORE 1 time.
As far as hearing it, never counted the number of times but it seems like it's almost nill on my home course whereas when I hit the courses in the Dells where you have a lot of vacationers who may only play a few rds per year, it's yelled a lot.
