Cracked ribs

I cracked one of my ribs at the end of last week and I have a tournament on Sunday. What is the chance I might be able to play? I have already payed my entry fee (non-refundable).

P.S. I have plenty of Vicodin.

Wrap it tight and take some swings.

I fell down the stairs carrying our newborn when she was about 5-6 weeks old - like any father, I completely threw myself underneath her so she'd land cushioned on top of me (she was fine of course) - when I got checked out, I hadn't cracked anything just bruised some ribs - After a few days of being sore, I figured I was OK - that first round out was interesting - swinging was uncomfortable and my score was horrible

it was the least enjoyable round of golf I've ever played

that said, if you can swing without pain, go for it
PS- I didn't think they were still wrapping busted ribs - I think the new thinking is just "let em heal"

I played almost an entire baseball season with 2 cracked ribs. There isn't much you can do to heal them any faster. Skip the vicotin and suck it up and play.

I got kicked in the ribs in karate class years ago and 1 got cracked. It hurt for 3 months. I can't imagine playing golf with that kind of pain.

I quit Karate when I moved up to Wisconsin because my school in NC (run by the retired Marine Sgt/Major and head of the US Shorin Ryu Karate Association) taught us so well. I broke everyone's ribs in my new school since they didn't teach them how to breath right and didn't like hurting people. You weren't in my class were you Doc?

Mike Moore's American Karate. He fought in the the Battle of Atlanta a bunch of times and won most of them. I have no clue where he is now as the last time I was in Athens his place wasn't there anymore.

Well, I've decided to play this weekend. A couple of Vicoden and Bud Lights for breakfast should do the trick.

Good luck and let us know how it goes. If you take the vicodin make sure you eat first. I have made the mistake of not eating enough and taking vicodin and it wasn't pretty.

Well I went to the range for the first time since the injury this afternoon. I hit the ball pretty well, a little discomfort, but no real pain. I was a little surprised that most the problem came from my short irons and not the longer clubs. I guess is has to be about my arms being closer to my body.
