hey Orlando/Kissimee golfers, we are going

to Orlando for a week on Feb 23 and the golf courses listed by Play Florida Golf for the week are Hunters Creek, Diamondback, Higlands Reserve, Legends, Ridgewood Lake, Forest Lake, and Remington. We have played the first four, not the last three. Do you have any suggestions either for other couses not mentioned, or opinions of the 7 courses. I especially enjoyed Hunters Creek. If there is a course that is not too expensive that we should add let me know please.
thanks
bob

Ive played all those courses, the only ones I would pay money to play are legends and ridgewood lakes. Not sure on the rates as I golf for free here, but check out Orange county national, they host Q-school. They have two courses, I recommend Crooked Cat. At almost 7,600 yards from the tips, it can make scratch golfers cry. Another good one is Stoneybrook west. Good course, some of the best greens in the orlando area. The Disney courses are nice, again not sure of the price but I recomment palms more then magnolia. Hope this helps, any more questions about local courses, shoot me a PM. Ive only been here about a month, but Ive played probably 12 courses in that time in the Orlando area.

Hunter's Creek is one of my local favorites as it is essentially my home course. They let it go a bit last year, but they have put a lot of effort into getting it back into shape.

Remington I played for the first time 2 weeks ago. Decent course, but the pace was a bit slow as they were running the "all you can eat and golf special."

In Februrary, you are going to have to pay the "lets screw the tourist" rates and there are not a lot of good deals to be had. Disney is nice, but will be ultra expensive in Feb.

I don't live in Orlando, but I can second the Orange National recommendation. Great place.

7 rounds of golf is about $725 including carts. That is with a 4 bedroom condo, all taxes included. This means that we will not get the premium courses unless we want to pay the extra. (I really did like Hunters Creek when we played it 2 years ago.)
