Thread: 3 clubs and a putter

  1. 3 clubs and a putter

That's the format for this weekend.

My inclination is 3 wood, 8 iron, sand wedge.

    Your thoughts?

Hmmm..., i would take a low lofted hybrid, like my 19*hybrid instead of a 3wood, might help if your putting with it, and i would rather bring a 7 iron.
Cool format though for 1 weekend . Go score low now !
    oh yeah

I like it. I would take my 4-hybrid, 8-iron, and sand wedge.

The reason for the 4-hybrid instead of the 3-wood?

Confidence. And, the fact that I'm playing for bogey. Let everyone else play for par, hit long off the tee and end up in the woods on half the holes. I'll poke my 4H 185 yards down the middle EVERY TIME, and hit it again on 350-400 yard par 4's. I can hit as many greens with the hybrid from 180 as I can the 8-iron from 150.

Well lol, i think now it might be 18* cause its a 3hybrid... But the reason for the hybrid is i hit mine like 150 +, last time i made a green that was marked as 185, probably closer by maybe 10 to 15yards though( i like the distance cause im young, excuses, excuses lol... ), and i hit that buggar pretty straight though lol. And i dont like the 8 iron, because its to little loft in my opinion.

Me and a PW and a bunker... Not a good day... lol, but i still gotta work with my SW outta bunkers quite a lot... Could that 3 wood, 5 iron be a GIR?, definitely not a bad idea.
    oh yeah

  7. 8 iron is my go to club. I hit it perfectly almost every time.

However, with the loss of distance, I may have to consider the 5......but wait! There is that pesky hole number 7 that is elevated close to 100 feet above the fairway.....aaarrrrggggg!!! I'm SO confused!

    maybe I'll take the 7 iron.....sheesh!

    4 hybrid, 7 iron, PW.
I hit my 7 and PW pretty consistantly, and I'd want my 4 hybrid for tee shots and to have a club to f.u. with from the fairway.

  12. For me lately it has been 3W,PW,and 7i

  13. Hmmm....Pw....I may take that. I can get out of the sand just fine with it, I can chip with it (sort of) and I can hit it around 125 yards.

    Ok...

    3w, 7iron and the PW

  14. 20* Hybrid, 7iron, and my sanwedge. I am 17 so I have the distance with my hybrid( about 230 yards). My 7iron is alrite. I am a magician with a wedge, cause thats all I practice really. I hit about 200 balls a day with my sand wedge/gap wedge. I really should be working on my driving though.
