I'm in...I take it if using Ebay we should use completed auctions to determine the actually price paid. Otherwise someone will list 14 clubs, all with $.99 opening bids. Care to elaborate on Ebay usage rules? If using completed auctions, how far back can we look for purchases? :laugh:
EDIT: It helps if I clearly read the original post. But my question about date of completed auctions still stands.

WBL's bag is not legal. If you use the PW as a wedge you only have 7 irons, and if you use it as an iron then you only have 1 wedge. Either way it seems that as a 20hcp that requiring an 8 iron set is unrealistic. How many 20's have you seen on the course with the ability to hit a 3 iron. Should just change the rules to a 7 iron set and let him keep his as is.make it easier on everyone else as well.

Here's my set. I've spent Money on the clubs that I think are most important for a 20 handicapper newcomer, The 3 wood, Irons and putter.
I spent £50 (or best offer) on a top spec Callaway 3 wood. This will give his bag a look of quality and he will benefit greatly from a 3 wood from the easy to hit Callaway family. The bonus is this is titanium and has a great uprated shaft, The ProLaunch Blue in reg. Which will help him get the ball airbourne & this will be the club he uses from the tee on most par 4's & 5's until he gets his handicap down.
I Spent £70 (or best offer) on a set of Adams GT Tight lies irons. 3-SW which includes a Tom Watson sand Wedge. These are a quality set of easy to hit cavity's that should get him off on the right foot.
I spent £29.99 on an Odyssey Dual force 330. Traditional Heel Toe weighted with a firm insert quality putter & good to develop a nice stroke with.
I've gone for a cheap Lob wedge & driver as a 20 handicapper shouldn't really be using them much anyhow. The driver is 11.5 degrees and 450cc just in case he does have an ego trip and tries using it he will have at least half a chance . The hybrid is also cheap but you have to sacrifice something for that top 3 wood!!!
