Am I the only one with this problem....???

Man o' Man, Here we go,

I hit my irons extremely well for a recreational golfer. I can work the ball how I like, and distances are money. I like to think from 160 in it's automatic (usually within 25 feet, good to me). As I said, I can work the ball however I want, I can hit a draw, cut or straight, whatever I need. Long irons included, I hit them pretty well. Fairway woods I hit ok, 7 wood is a great club for me, while the 3 and 5 give me issues sometimes, but all in all get the job done. Now comes the driver. Man do I suck lately with the lumba out. I mean either a horrid slice or the old quacker. What is the big difference here, why am I so spurratic with the driver. Seeing I can hit all of my other clubs straight at least, what could the issue be with the driver, is overswinging an issue, or might I say is this lack of accuracy control a bi-product of this?

If your feet leave your shoes during your swing at anytime -backswing or downswing- you have issues.

The driver is the club that, if swung more "solidly", yet with control (in other words, smooth), you'll see much better results than if you go out and try and cut through the fabric of the space-time continum with your big stick.

Go out and try and hammer 10 balls in a row. Then, hit 10 balls with a smooth swing, not worrying about distance. If you're smooth and crisp, i bet 75% of those balls end up with 10-15 yards of the first 10, but they're much straighter.

Being smooth is key. Look at Ernie, Phil, Annika Vijay and even Tiger when he's on. All those "guys" are robotic and machine-like in their delivery. They only get into trouble when they swing out of their minds (ie: Tiger).

Stick with it. Sounds like you're starting to grasp your issue, it shouldn't be long til you have it sewn up.

Just wait...when you finally get a good stroke with you driver...than your iron game will fall to s*&%. You gotta love this game

RoRo speaks the truth...I don't think I've had my entire game working together once in my life. I can be crushing the driver dead straight and my short game is nowhere to be found, or I can be dialed in for 150yrds but I can't hit my driver over 200yds...this is one fun game we love.

I need to get back in the habit of slowing down, just not worth messing around in the trees, but i mean hey, during the summer ya gotta love the shade...
