golf balls sweet spot

I heard awhile back about floating a golf ball in epson salt and water to find the sweet spot to get a true roll on the putting green, has anyone tried this and how does it work exactly, is the part of the ball that is facing up in the water the sweet spot???

There must be a pretty high salt content in the water if the golf ball is going to float... or am i missing something

I seem to recall an advertising campaign from Wilson a few years ago for the ir 'True' range of balls. Apparently each ball was guaranteed to be pefectly balanced, and it was supposed to make a big difference to your game etc etc.

I tried the True tour and it was a crap ball with zero feel. Needless to say the True line didn't take off and they were practically giving them away. I would suggest that most balls keep their shape pretty well these days and puting comes down more to the feel of the ball than any supposed balance.
