Anyone know anything about the United States Golf Teachers Federation? I have no idea what to think about this group.

Let me write and analogy here in terms of respect each organization gets:

PGA is to the USGTF as Mirua is to those Knight boxed sets you find in Sprawl-Mart

That's pretty much what I remember as the gist of the thread a year ago. Things like:

Scam
Worthless
Waste of time

But I didn't want to say it, since I have no first hand experience.

I understand the comments above & in NO way would I try to put this (or any other) organisation in the same standing of the PGA. HOWEVER, is there ANY organisation that is set up to teach pros how to 'teach' ONLY? i.e. to get some form of recogniseable teaching certificate without having to learn the administration/groundsmanship side of golfing?

I have an Asst Pro friend down here in the Dominican Republic that wants to better himself 'AS A TEACHER' but does not want/can not WAIT 3 years to get full PGA certification - he will NEVER be using the 'other' aspects taught on the PGA course so how can he side-track these?

By the way, PRGTF is part of the 'Chi-Chi' Rodrigues Group & as I recall HE has some standing in the game?!! I have spoken to the President of the PRGTF (who also acts as President of the DRGTF) & like all other 'start-up' Associations they are striving to get recognition. Hey, even the PGA had difficulties at the start with the R & A trying to keep control of things!!!
