Thread: Hoing aint worth it anymore

  1. Hoing aint worth it anymore

Just got back from the post office and they gave me a good screwing. Shipping is just too high to mess with anymore. I vow to sell off this last bit of quality product (check the classifieds) and quit the maddness that I have been a part of for too long. Its not worth it and I have lied to myself in the past by the thought that I may have made a buck or 2 on resale but when It all comes down to it in the end, I have made ebay and paypal lots of money. I am on the losing end badly, my ebay feed back is 301 and thats because lots of people dont leave feedback so that number should be around 400. I am closing up shop.

I try not to bid on stuff with outrageous shipping, when I ship I usually do it through the post office becuase UPS and FEDEX are getting crazy. UPS wanted 60 bucks to ship some clubs to Hawaii. Thats fricken crazy!!! I shiped USPS for 20 bucks but yeah its still pretty expensive, really not much less than buying from your local shop unless you get a killer deal but then we all know about great deals when its sounds to good to be true its probably a fake.

  5. I hear you there. I sold $507 worth of clubs in Nov., paid Ebay and PPL $65. Then at an average of about $9 shipping per club that's another $60-$70. I do get enough to replace my clubs with ones I want so that's not too bad I guess. I was able to buy the Miura 3i, BurnerTP driver, Blueboard, BurnerTP 13*, 200steel 5w, Nippon shaft and clubwork, Vokey 60* SM, Under Armour turtleneck, Yes putter and a Motorolla Razor. So I still find a lot of good deals buying.

  6. Huh? I don't understand.

I can't imagine anyone thinking they are going to make a profit of some sort on clubs. Hoing is hoing.

The way I look at it is that I am renting the club for a while. I tried probably 8 drivers this year. None of them new. All of them shipped to me.

Buying new is for suckers. Most drivers I can sell for right around what I paid for it. I can definitely sell it for $20 less than I paid for it.

I usually charge $15 for shipping. The buyer pays the shipping on Ebay. The extra over the roughly $10 for shipping helps cover paypal and ebay fees.

At most I usually sell a club for $20 less than I paid for it.

I will pay $20 to rent a club for as long as I want to give it a good work out. I then have the option of keeping it if it works out well. If it doesn't, off to Ebay it goes.

I probably "lost" $180 on drivers this year between getting less than I paid for it and fees. $180 to try 8 different high-end drivers for unlimited testing is not really a bad tradeoff IMO.

  7. ug, I was looking through the classified at work today. I get bored and its right there in front of me. I stayed strong. If I trade and not buy, am I still a Ho?
