Tornado in Racine

We're not supposed to have 63º F temperatures in Wisconsin in January. When we do we get nasty storms. We just spent an hour in the basement while a confirmed tornado went through downtown racine. Don't know if it was on the ground but it was when it was southwest of Racine. Just dropped the tornado warning on TV so I'm up on the computer again. It hit five homes on the way here so have to find out if there's damage here. Article below says debris was falling down in Sturtevant which is 5 miles west of Racine.

Just came up from the basement again. More sirens and another tornado warning. This one went just north of us. First one went overhead but wasn't down. Looks like more coming... Boy, if one hits a city of 100,000 it could be a mess.

And the insurance would buy me a new set of clubs!!

Supposed to rain tomorrow and turn to snow. Luckily most of it is melted so new places to put it.

I thought that the dense fog around me was bad (so bad that it caused a 100 car pileup east of Madison yesterday), but the second I heard there was a tornado in Racine, I thought that the fog had brought the Twilight Zone down on WI for a couple of days. Weird.

I had to head into Fitchburg yesterday after work. I was on 1-90 & turned off onto the beltway at 2:20 pm. The accidents started happening 3 minutes later so I missed all of it. Came back through that way about 25 minutes later & the east bound lanes were completely stopped & jampacked. I had figured there was bound to be an accident eventually since on my there traffic was moving at 65-70 even though visibility was maybe 3-4 car lengths.

I was in Fitchburg a couple weeks ago (went to their movie theater and that cowboy bar near by) and I didn't see the golf dome anywhere...Did they remove it?

Wasn't aware they ever had one?
The only ones I know of are the one on I-94 near 7 mile rd & there is also on on hwy 45 & capitol drive near the Harley plant.

Hmm, just looked it up & supposedly according to the net it's still there. Will have to take a look see.

Edited because I did a little more checking around & it's gone, took it down to put up the SuperTarget. The owner was hoping to move it to 151 near Sun Prairie but it may have been sold off by now.

Really bad fog all over WI, no tornados here in Green Bay thankfully. Glad your home wasn't hit WBL.

I didn't work yesterday, and the only driving I did was in town doing errands. But what drove me crazy were all the idiots driving around without headlights on. True, you don't need them to see during daytime fog. HOWEVER, you have a responsiblity to the other motorists on the road to make sure they can see you. I almost clipped 5-6 cars that just pulled right out in front of me, because I couldn't see them approach the intersection (or driveway).
