Don't ask me what that's supposed to mean but if that was the exact phrase? Fired and find a new career. Maybe an audition for "Black D***'s, White Chicks #47".

I can't buy the " Kelly's is a racist" bit,,,,

I don't think it is fair to compare her remark to Imus as he called the young girls whores (ho's) and refer to their african hair characteristic, which to me is demeaning and blatantly racist.
She could have just as easily said that the only way young golfers will win against Tiger is to "whack him" or "break his legs" or "lock him in the trunk" or "send him to Mexico" or, well you get the idea.
I have enjoyed her commentary for the last year or so. She and Nick seem to work ok together, and I don't think Nick has any trouble correcting her if she is off base about golf. I have never heard her say anything that sounded racist or stupid for that matter.

It may not be as blatant as Imus but still "Lynch" is a racist term and will be perceived that way when using it in reference to a black man (even though he's more asian than black). It comes from "Lynch Mob". Don't ask me WTF she was thinking. It was idiotic and career suicide.

yeah I'm not saying she is racist. all I'm saying is that not only did she make a bad judgement call on saying what she did. but that she picked the biggest player i golf to say it about. not that it matters that she said it about tiger but the news will have a field day with it. i still think shes gone.

I beg to differ. Tiger will insist it and if I was him, I most certainly would. I find it offensive. Those who don't must not understand the origin of the word. Basically, IMO if you don't see anything wrong with you yourself may need to take a good look at your own beliefs.

Lynching, a felony in some states in the U.S.A., is defined by some codes of law as "Any act of violence inflicted by a mob upon the body of another person which results in the death of the person," with a 'mob' being defined as "the assemblage of two or more persons, without color or authority of law, for the premeditated purpose and with the premeditated intent of committing an act of violence upon the person of another." Lynching in the second degree is defined as "Any act of violence inflicted by a mob upon the body of another person and from which death does not result."[1] To sustain a conviction for lynching at least some evidence of premeditation must be produced, however "The common intent to do violence" may be formed before or during the assemblage."[2]
The Dyer Anti-Lynching Bill was first introduced to United States Congress in 1918 by Congressman Leonidas Dyer of Missouri. The bill was passed by the House of Representatives in 1922 and in the same year given a favorable report by the Senate Committee; however, passage was halted by a Senate filibuster. The Dyer Bill has since influenced other anti-lynching legislation including the Costigan-Wagner Bill[3]. The Dyer Anti-Lynching Bill as it appeared in 1922 stated: "To assure to persons within the jurisdiction of every State the equal protection of the laws, and to punish the crime of lynching...Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the phrase "mob or riotous assemblage," when used in this act, shall mean an assemblage composed of three or more persons acting in concert for the purpose of depriving any person of his life without authority of law as a punishment for or to prevent the commission of some actual or supposed public offense."[4]
In the United States, lynching is also a hate crime.[5]Lynch mobs, which typically require a large number of participants, can be considered vigilante terrorists.[6]
Lynching during the late nineteenth century in the United States, Great Britain and colonies, coincided with a period of high imperialism violence and religious inspired protest which denied people participation in white dominated society on the basis of race or gender after the Emancipation Act of 1833.[7]
Pogroms against Jews in the early twentieth century in Russia and south-eastern Europe were another form of community policing, similar to the ethnic cleansing that characterized lynchings in the United States. (See Pogrom and [9].)

I'm sure to some people the word "lynch" is very

specific and applies to the treatment of blacks in the southern U.S. But maybe to others it is more general and in this case the remark wasn't racist. I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt. Is Tiger going to be at the Sony and will she be there barring action from the network?

Between the 1880s and the 1960s, Americans lynched 4,743 people, and the victims were not only black people in the former Confederate states or such unfortunates as cattle rustlers and suspected murderers. They were also aboriginal people, Catholics, Chinese immigrants, Mexicans, Jews, and, in at least one case, a Canadian.
On a moonlit night in February 1884, roughly 100 American lynchers rode north across the border at Sumas Prairie, abducted a 14-year-old Canadian boy, and hanged him from a tree where only a grain silo now stands in a farmer's field just north of the international boundary marker on Whatcom Road. The vigilantes then fled back across the border to Nooksack, in the Washington Territory.
There were 23 lynchings in Washington between the early 1860s and 1919. The first was the hanging of "an Indian" in Steilacoom. The last was the horrific case of union organizer Wesley Everest. American Legionnaires grabbed Everest in the town of Centralia, castrated him, and hanged him from the Chehalis River bridge.

If Tiger is pissed then she is gone for sure. Who does the golf channel not want to lose more, Tiger or Kelly?

She will not be there. Tiger probably will refuse to play if she is and I wouldn't blame him. Whatever her "meaning" was it's totally racist when used in reference to a black man. The term's primary origin is from KKK "lynching" black men, hanging them and burning the cross. To think a word that IMO is 95% tied in origin to those events in history, used in that context/connotation towards a black man is not going to be percieved as a racist comment by him, the african-american population and the semi-liberal and semi-educated population at large, is idiotic. OK, I'm done with this one. The only way for Tiger to equalize it would be to "b!tch slap the $hit out of her and rape her, in a back alley". (wow, that doesn't seem all that funny or unoffensive either) but he'll settle with her being fired or simply not play in any events televised by the GC.

Yeah, imagine that. Tiger denies the GC the use his name, images or any likeness. I got a feeling they won't even wait for his response.
