SNOW

I live in chicago and we got hit with a huge snow storm, 6-10 inches or more!

My question to you guys is:

How far south do I need to go to play a couple rounds to get me through this hellish winter?!

I like looking at NOAA's webpage. The National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center maintins a "Snow Coverage" page

NOHRSC Interactive Snow Information

looks like today (1 Feb 2008) that you'd have to go south to at least the Illinois-Kentucky border.

I'm just happy that for once Iowa wasn't hit. Not that it matters because what's on the ground isn't going to melt for at least another month anyway, but it was good to see other people deal with 3, 5, 8 inches of snow and not us.

Little over 1" is all we got, glad too since I am finally getting to the point of hating using the snowblower now. Was ok the 1st 24 times this year I used it.

What I learned from that snow storm was that shoveling a snow is a pain in the a** after you pack it down with a quad. haha man I hate snow, after this hellish winter I'm never taking golf for granted. I'm working on my golf swing everyday in the summer and golfing any chance I get. I think I'm going to fertilize and seed my yard so we can get some good grass. I'm also thinking about putting in a sand bunker.

Hit Myrtle Beach. It's easy, fast trip, inexpensive at this time of year and has a bunch of fantastic tracks in great condition. Played there on Saturday and it was 58 degrees and sunny.

You know, I was thinking the same thing.............that's one of the parts of my game that needs practice. Not so much getting out, but distance control. I've got 1/2 acre back yard, so the Wife wouldn't care.

Wow thats pretty big. Sand play is one of the easiest parts of the game for me, but what the heck more practice can't hurt. I live in the city so I can't get the distance but I could work on the green side bunker type shots.

A sand trap in the yard becomes the neighborhood litter box. Trust me, I know...

I think I'm going to do it. I used to have a sandbox when I was little and it was alright. I can't wait till summer.

You just might want to actually get your dad's permission.
