Hard Core!

So I'm playing tomorrow at 8am in 0 degrees C (32F) and -7C with wind chill. My only hope is that it snows tonight and that our Winter League gets canceled. I have my thermals in waiting, my mittens, woolly hat etc. Andy_79 is in my team, so he better dust off his thermals as well.

Oh and did I mention the incentive for all this frost-bite? The winning team of four after 6 weeks receives a fantastic prize, a 4 ball at The K-Club!!

That is hard core. I don't think I've ever played when it's been under 40F and I don't really like playing under 50F.

Maybe I'd make an exception for that prize though.

This is a balance between stupidity and greed, between survival and a great score; between too many layers on "so you can't swing a club" and hypothermia.

Part of me is looking forward to this and the other part of me is just drinking beer. I may bring my camera!

The camera is a good idea. A photo report on a round in those conditions would be good entertainment. And good luck.

I tee off at 8:00 am myself tomorrow, of course it is a little warmer here in Phoenix (should be 45 degrees by then).

Man, screw that. I had a lesson the other day when it was 50° and that was bad enough. I figured it would be okay because 50° isn't all that cold, really. Upon arrival I remembered just how little stuff there is around to stop wind out on a golf course. The balls felt like they were frozen solid. The golf balls did, too.

My Winter league match today has been cancelled due to the Snow However I would still play with an Orange ball for a chance of a free game at the K club!

game on

we missed most of snow in midlands its all gone now. It is though clear skys and very cold. We struggled to find a course still open for our 4 ball tomorrow. Usual course was booked up as we left it late to book and others have closed!

Weather says no rain but freeezing conditions so thermals are definatley on, tee off at 0900.

Ha, it snowed last night! No golf today, although most of the snow got rained away today. Weekend canceled, until next week.

gale force 10

Man it was bitter today. Not so cold to start with but the wind so powerful it was blowing trolleys over! Course situated on top of hill in places making it even worse. Distances were hard to calculate and resulted in one of my highest scoring rounds of late although i did feel as though i hit the ball alot better than usual so some pluses to take from it.

Pretty hard core dude

...although I've been playing pretty much non stop this winter, but I am lucky and don't really feel the cold. (Was pretty chilly this morning though with the final group game of out Winter Match Play Pairs comp).

My home course is a little bit rough round the edges though lol and the owner has said he will only close the course once the water covers the till!
