Getting Fatigued and tired at the range and course

Ive been getting really tired and fatigued lately, and its really affecting my game, i can barely finish a buck of balls and by then my swing is shot. I think my poor diet and work schedule are really throwing me off and im only 32. I really need to hit the gym and eat better.

Sometimes In the summer I find myself getting burned out around the 15th. I changed my sleeping patterns a little, started eating more food during the round, and noticed a difference.

It was 15º F here yesterday morning and I was sweating from shoveling snow. Does that count?

No time like the present to start.

I'm 56, and I work out at home anywhere from 3 to 5 days per week. I can do a weights and machine workout in about 30 minutes. There are some longer workouts, but at my age that's more than I want to do. It's just a matter of making yourself do it on a regular basis.

If you don't have much in the way of equipment, I suggest buying a few sets of dumbells, and either an incline situp board, or a balance ball, or some type of abs and back machine.

It's trite now, but your core, the abdominal and back muscles, are incredibly important for the modern golf swing.

Also important is walking. Fast walking. But this takes so much time, that I rarely walk except when playing golf.

The good news is that I feel much better when I work out. The bad news is that it hasn't helped my golf one bit.

I am NOT looking forward to that part of Spring! It has been a ridiculous long time to be off the course, due to the winter weather. I have suspended all physical exercise and have gained what feels like tons of weight. For my tired old body, worn out heat, bad knees, bad back... this is not good!!! Yet, I do not have the willpower to give in and utilize a fitness center membership.

During warm weather, my job keeps me active. I can, usually, stay in shape enough to motor my old legs around 18 without too much difficulty. I do think, it's a complete package. Diet (Whew, I'm really off track there!)... and exercise beyond just walking the course. Somewhere I read, recently, everyone should try to walk a mile and a half a day. That's significantly less than the 3.5 to 4 walked in 18 holes. But, it keeps the body active and limber.

The other thing is to see if the problem persists. If you do get concerned, go see a doctor!!! Don't let something "creep up on you", healthwise. Better safe than sorry!!!

i'd recommend stopping once you get tired on the range, your not helping yourself when your fatigued and losing focus

There has to be a snow blower forum somewhere on the internet, where you could ho a blower for the price of an FTI

Who better to ask about snowblowers (actually you likely want a snowthrower) than the golfer that just can't stand the little white $#!+ and wants to spend the least amount of time possible dealing with the crap.

Here is what I own, and would be my choice for an affordable, well built snowthrower. Buy a two~stage if you get any kind of decent snow at all, which if your back hurts from shoveling that is likely the case. Mine is a 7524, which basically means 7.5 HP and a 24" deck. Both of those are likely the smallest I would recommend for a 2 stage (actually 6hp may work for lighter fluffy snow with a small drive, but would be a stretch). I have a real small drive and walkway, but I have to blow half my yard for my dog.

Ariens® >> Snow Products

edit 1 - I think when I researched, Honda and Toro where the only that ranked higher and they were about double the cost. Try to get as few electric and mechanical parts as possible (Directional guides, etc.) , less crap to break, less stuff to repair. I would also pay the extra money, not much, and buy it from a dealer. Kinda like golf clubs, do you want a trained professional to put the thing together, or a kid making $5 an hour that could care less if it stays together.

I had a Honda electric when I lived in Jersey, that did a real fine job of snow throwing.
I dont know how big WBLs driveway is, but I take it it's not that big, since he didn't collapse, after shoveling.

I have an 8.5hp 27" Poulan. The same Tecumseh snow king motor is used in a variety of throwers including the Ariens lineup. The electric start option is a must have feature also.
