The dreaded 'S' word again

I've had my Mizzy MP32's for about 6 months. I hit them superb at 1st and even won 1st time out with them in the bag. since then though I've progressivly got worse with them. They still went ok but felt like a bag of bones, apart from a handful of shots per round. But in the past month I've started hitting a Shank out of nowhere! At 1st just one or so per round but today after 8 great holes and one under gross I shanked my tee shot and couldn't hit a full iron shot again. Didn't stop me tryingbut I shanked my way round to 14. On the 14th after a good drive striaght down the middle I shanked 2 shots with my 8 iiron. I asked my brother in law to pass me his 8 iron (TM 320) and I hit a nice high towering shot to the middle of the green. Fluke I thought so I tried again and again centre of the green. Hit my 8 iron again and shank.

We wnt straight across to 18 as we were running out of daylight and I borrowed his 6 iron and hit to the back of the green. i then attempted to hit my 6 iron and again shank!

So is this in my head or is it the lack of offset or something along those lines?

The shank has nothing to do with the equipment!

Seems to be a hott topic lately with the shanks, I was at the range last nite and couldnt hit any iron shot to save my life. Im just glad I wasnt on the course or else I would have walked off and went home.

Funny you should say that but I relly like the blade, well it says blade on it mor like a muscle.

Dave, if it's not the equiptment then how come it didn't happen with the TM 320's? Not sure if it's actually off the shank or if I just have the face wide open! It flies low and tright with cut spin on it.

Could be the static weight of the club being too high or low, swing weight too high or low, length, balance point, offset, appearance. My advice is stop hitting them, and buy clubs you dont shank.

Stand further back, Weight on ur heels and swing hard.. it will go away in a few minutes. The 320's is because you know it isnt going to happen. The 32's well now its in ur head.

Really? Or is that what you think I'm fishing for, free advice to Ho!!!

I really was trying to hit both irons the same but just couldn't get the MP32's anything like decent.

hey MG - i'll take 'em off your hands

i got the hooks anyhow - so hitting MP32s instead of MX23s aint gonna make a blind bit of difference!!

seriously - it'll pass. Just take out the PW and hit a few 3/4 shots to get the feel back, and then move back down the bag.

The PW was the biggest sinner of the lot!!!

I'm thinking of swoping them for some Cally X-forged with Project X 6.0's but not to sure yet. I have played very well with these in the past and probably would again but the seed is planted in my head now and who's to say it won't pop up again under pressure with a card in my hand? Just totally pi$$ed off with it. I suffered with the shanks at the start of the season and relaxing my grip sorted it out. Tried that today and shanked the next 2. Tried ripping one and shanked that as well. Put the same full swing on my gap wedge, no problem, Chris' TM's no problem, My 32's SSSSHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKKKKK KKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't even know why I read these $hank threads... they give me chills. I went through about 2 months last summer where I played only a few times and just beat balls, trying to get rid of them. I considered selling all my crap and dropping the game it was so bad. All of a sudden they were just gone, I haven't $hanked one since then.

I believe that the use of the word S***K is prohibited on this forum. Being the vile bit of perverse pornography that it is.

Let's clean it up boys.

My boss has a nice set of 320's with graphite shafts. He bought MX25's last year. I'm sure he would consider swapping them for the 32's if you'd like?

well - i think it's just the winter blues. I have been totally sucking the last 2 or 3 months - but, today on the range - things were marginally better. The sun was shining - it was almost warm, and the golf just seemed a bit easier.

I think it'll just come back mate - don't fret it.

Cripes - if you need to change irons every time you shank.... OMG!!
