Help Me

Well its getting towards the start of the golf season here in Scotland, obviously I played through the winter but it was to cold to care about my scores, so I thought I'd post my swing on here to see if anyone can suggest any tweaks to my swing. My apologies for the video quality but I took the video on my phone. Any Suggestions or Comments are appreciated.
Below are pictures of how close I was to my first hole in one.

Ouch, I can't do that any more.....lovely looking swing Adam. Bit difficult to analyse due to the high production values but it looks to be together.

Nice straight left arm, lovely finish and a hip driven downswing. I bet you crack it miles, you little coathanger you.

No wonder you can turn like that, 18 years old, good grief. I can vaugely remember when I could do that too. If I tried now I'd end up in the hospital.

The only thing that I kind of noticed was the grip and the way your wrists set before the swing. Are your hands ahead of the ball at all over are they even or even behind the ball?

Other then that nice swing. Maybe try to keep the left leg from moving a little, it looks like your hips aren't level on the backswing. Thats really nitpicking though.

One of the only things I ever listened to when I took about 6 lessons from an old pro was that I had to restrict my backswing coz and I quote "your stupidly springy"

I'm shooting sub 80's consistently now but we are on winter greens (fairways) so putting is more luck than skill at the moment.

It might be the camera angle as far as the wrists being set before the swing because they seem to look level with the ball but your completly right about the left leg thing, I'll fix that the next time I'm on the course.

Thank you for all the comments, no doubt a few more will follow. Hopefully some more pro or sub par golfers will offer some criticism to stop my ego from growing to huge . In the mean time thanks again.

Adam,

Don't touch a thing with that. You'll grow into your belly, er, body soon enough. With a natural high finish like that, you can concentrate on putting and distance control instead of worrying about hip turns, foot position, hands, all that crap. Just get out there and play!

And with results like that, you're doing something right! LOL! Nice work!

Looking pretty good. To get a video to actually work with get a clear side view, down the line and side-behind view. Oh, and it's absolutely necessary to hit a ball, normal shot when take the video. The swing can change a lot when actually hitting a ball. If I went just on a practice swing, I'd have very little to work on, the real swing is much different with plenty to work on.

Nice shot BTW. I was pretty close last month with a 7i myself, closest I've ever been.

Thanks Rock, I've been told by my Uncle, who is like my golf guru, to ignore any advice in magazines and from anyone that hasnt seen my swing but from what I can tell I seem to be moving in the right direction without any help at the moment.

i'm always amazed at how many people post videos of their swing when not actually hitting a shot. to me, video is meaningless unless there is a ball flying toward a target, as that's the only real measure of the quality of the swing. positions and aesthetics can get overblown.
